Rated 5 out of 5 by eairey3 from Great saw for the price This tile saw is great, although the splash extension could have engineered a higher back splash (minor issue). I like that I can do plunge cuts in tile for project boxes without have to cut through to the edge. The 8 inch blade has a limit of working with 24 inch tiles, but the smaller blade is more precise when plunge cutting. The built in laser is helpful in double-checking your cutting where you want. The drain makes it easy to change water without having to disturb the work site. Get a quick inline garden hose shut off for the drain for maximum flexibility when draining. Overall, a great product for the price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ratcliffbrando from bad bearings Not for everyday use, ive had 3 and bearings on the armature assembly went up in two of them ,one went up a second time after it was replaced once. Working with the 3rd which was a replacement and it sounds like they are getting loose in this one too. Other then that fine saw just wish they would figure something out to stop the problem from happening for future buyers

Rated 4 out of 5 by GPIslander from Pretty good tile saw, except... This tile saw is rated to be able to rip 24" long tile. While the distance from the backstop of the sliding table to the front edge of the blade is indeed more than 24", the table itself is only 13.5", leaving at least ten inches of tile hanging out in space when you make a rip cut. This is fine for ripping a square tile since there is alot of material to support that overhang. Unfortunately, ripping a very expensive 24" bullnose which is barely 4" wide to begin with seems no small risk of snapping the tile in half. I thought I'd use a piece of Hardibacker underneath the tile for support, but the backstop is only about 3/8" high so that the back edge of the bullnose piece will not be against the backstop. There should have been a removable piece of the backstop about five inches wide so that one could begin the cut with the skinny tile hanging out the back but against the angle stop until the cut is half made, then reinstall (with two Allen screws) the backstop and complete the cut that way.

Has it been released yet? Any plans to? Does the 10" saw extension work in its place?
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID! No, there have been no side extension or other tile saw accessories released or marketed by RIDGID, and there are no known plans for any to advise of at this time. There are no 10” saw extensions offered that are compatible with the RIDGID R4040 tile saw model, that we are aware of. Regards, RIDGID

wondering when/ if the side table extension will be available as it is drilled and tapped but have not seen any mention of it being offered.
At this time, there is no information available concerning a possible table extension accessory for the RIDGID R4040S model tile saw. Thank you RIDGID

Where is the 8" Glass Tile Blade?
It's a nice saw, but I need to cut some glass tile. Where is the 8" glass tile blade for this saw?
We do not make or support a 8” glass tile blade, so we do not have any information on one to advise of. Thanks, RIDGID
