Rated 1 out of 5 by from Go back and redesign and test it until it's durable Ridgid....We're tradesmen and engineers with many years of experience. This floating transmitter has a very poor design of product. Worked once and then completely failed to work again on the two units we purchased. Design is very difficult to open, close, turn on-off, to install or replace batteries, and relies on a whisker thin O-ring and cellophane tape to keep highly corrosive septic effluent away from the internal electronics and batteries. Ridgid clearly never tested this design in the real world. They should have used a screw top design and a real seal instead like their other 1" sonde (which we own). Unfortunately the chinese floating transmitters are better designed and made (at half the price)-and we hate buying foreign products. We own many Ridgid products, and this is the first one we're disappointed with. Design it, develop it, test it, refine it. Don't use tradesmen on the job as your testing department, our wasted time costs us money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good solution for septic tanks It's floating! Simply throw it into the toilet, and flush away, when you are looking for a septic. Comes with spare batteries, and tape to close again. Attach to wire, and you can recover. Have to, because for single use it is way too expensive! Good to have.
