I have a difficult bathroom sink that I've only been lucky enough to snake one time out of 8 with a hand held drum snake, so I bought the Rigid K30. I tried two different days 10 to 15 minutes each time, but it wouldn't make the right turn beyond the wall, approximately 10 inches deep, either. Maybe a less rigid cable would work, or an attachment such as the larger snakes have. I'll keep it, as I believe the plumbing is 60 years old and faulty. It's a good product and will work on my other drains. Easier to use than a hand held model by freeing up one hand. I used a bladder/garden hose to finally clear it after two attempts.

I’ve been using the Ridgid auger that chucks into your drill for many years. I’ve tried other inclusive units that friends bought but they were either too heavy to move around or the auger was too large to negotiate my plumbing. I needed to auger the drain again bur currently I’m not in the best of health so I went out and bought this unit.
The setup was easy and it worked great. The self-feed is a little slow but you can manually feed it as well. The auger is longer than the drill style but with the same diameter it feeds and negotiates turns easily. I would definitely recommend this auger.
The only ‘Con’ that I found is the feed hose connection to the base unit is not positively locked so I had to secure it with a hose clamp.

You have to press hard on the feed and supply line to get movement but it seem to work well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1SmartPlumber the self feeding is a great feature as is having the hose to minimize the throw off from the cable
I purchased this machine about 4 months ago and it has worked better than I hoped. With the 1/4 inch cable it really is only good for small drains, tubs, hand wash sinks etc. But the self feeding feature works really well. One word of caution here, if you get any kinks (and is does kink very easily) or even near kinks, where the cable starts to flop around, the self feed doesn't work. However I have on occasion used the machine without the hose in order to complete a job. I do wish the motor had a little more power; it just stops when it meets very little resistance and is sometimes difficult to work your way through a blockage.
Overall, it's a great little machine and a lot easier to use than the old drill style. and the hose on the nose does a great job at minimizeing the mess from from the cable throwing off gunk as it spins.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TedMerna Excellent tool, does what is supposed to do and does it well.
This Ridgid Snake is a great piece of equipment.
I cannot comment on durability for the Easy Kleen K 30, I just used it twice. Purchased about a month ago.

This is the light-duty drain-opening machine I have needed for some time, far superior to the one operated by my electric drill. So far I have used it to open only one sink drain, and it has performed perfectly. It helps that I have had some practice in feeding a rotating cable into a drain, so I am unlikely to force it, twist it or break it. The foot-operated on/off switch allows for excellent two-handed control. The one flaw, as many have noted, is that the cable has no markings to show how much has been fed into the drain. (That is why I rate Ease of Use only as "good.") Therefore, before using the machine, I painted every 24 inches of the cable a different color, up to 18 feet. What a great help!
