Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 17 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is a time saver This product saves valuable time by not having to drag out compressors and hoses. Also no more listening to a compressor pumping up or disrupting your customers. November 26, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great tool I am very satisfied with this nailer once I figured out the trick to using it. Unlike an air nailer where you just quickly pull the trigger and release, you have to hold the trigger until the nail is completed discharged. If you quickly release the trigger, the nail will not seat all the way. I would purchase again. November 26, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Extremely handy This cordless nail gun is extremely handy to have, it saves pulling out the compressor all the time. Would defiantly recommend it to the handy man or more occasional user. It would say it would not be great for a finish contractor to use all day. It's a little big and doesn't always put every nail in like you want it. On hard woods it tends to leave long nails proud a quarter inch. Love the lifetime warrantee. November 25, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Light, easy to use I bought this because i needed something for small household jobs and didnt want to buy a compressor. I am very impressed how well it works and how much easier it is to get my jobs done. I have also had many friends and family borrow it multiple times because of these reasons as well. Rated 5 out of 5 by New Generation for RIGID Pneumatic, I would say. This is the best and lightest since Paslode had the Aluminum Finish Nailer; and that was Air hose and Compressor Trouble. This Puppy has it all; and portability. It surpasses theCompetition; all Portable and Butane versions, like a new generation should. I can not wait to see the Micro-PInner and the Spiker. Easy to Load, Fire and Free Jams. Your Moldings and Trims will thank you at the top of a ladder and in the Efficient and Fast, especially in the far corners, and there always is a nail left out there when the distance and the hose and the awkward come into play. November 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Total time saver Bought this gun over two years ago and love it. Plenty of power to drive 2" nails into hardwoods. I use this daily. Just keep the drive pin lubed and you will have no problems. Just picked up two more batteries for it so less down time. November 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Tool The gun is very light with the easiest depth adjustment I have ever used. The only con I have experienced is if the nail pusher slides under the nails the nails will not advance and no nail will be shot. November 24, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by it's nice to have for small projects and big ones. Love this gun its not too big and bulky like others, I just wish it was sold with two batteries. Great buy. November 24, 2014

I need a new battery and the 18v compact 'hyper' lithium has received higher reviews than the standard 18v compact lithium that it was packaged with. The description mentions that it is compatible with 18v x 2 & 18v x 4 but does not communicate that it is not compatible with standard 18v such as this finishing nailer

Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

All RIDGID 18V platform tools and batteries are interchangeable. However, the RIDGID 18V Lithium Ion batteries do require their correct charger.

Answer:
I use the larger 3A battery most of the time. I do have the new hyper as a replacement from the old compact and am impressed with it. I still prefer a larger battery.

Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

The written instructions for loading the R250AF18 are provided on page #10 of the owner’s manual, and the diagrams showing that procedure are located on page #13, which is near the very back of the tri-lingual owner’s manual.

You can also find them below:

LOADING THE TOOL WITH NAILS
-Remove the battery pack into the tool.
-With the nose of the tool pointed away from you, feed a strip of nails into the magazine. Be sure the nails are pointed downward and at the angle shown.
WARNING:
Keep the tool pointed away from yourself and others when loading nails. Failure to do so could result in possible serious personal injury.
-Slide the nail strip as far forward in the magazine as possible.
-Slide the pusher all the way to the rear of the magazine. Release the pusher and allow it to push the nails up to the driving mechanism. The pusher will stop when it rests against the end of the nail strip.
NOTE: Do not allow the pusher to snap back into place.
WARNING:
Use only the nails recommended for use with this tool. The use of any other nails can result in tool malfunction, leading to serious injuries.
WARNING:
Never load nails with the work piece contact or trigger activated. Doing so could result in possible serious personal injury.

RIDGID
