Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performer As far as a power standpoint this is a very capable little machine. It doesn't bog down or seem to quit. I haven't tried many larger than 1" drill bits on it yet but for drilling into concrete it surpasses my needs. The reviews on the tube show this tool having the most run time of any other brand brushless compact hammer drill when using the 4.0 a.h. Hyper Li-On battery. An attestment to the new brushless motors Ridgid is using. By comparison the standard permanent magnet brushed motors on the brushed Gen5x model seems to have stronger specs at 780 in-lbs of torque, whereas this brushless model is at 700 in.-lbs. I almost went for that model but seeing that this was temporarily available in a set with the Gen5x Brushless 7-1/4 circular saw, it was a no brainer. the 700 in.-lbs. are solid, controlled and accurate. Using the chuck on this tool is easy with the Jacobs snap twist. The 1-100 micro settings on the torque are nice to have. I really like the forward design on these tools. It is 2016 and these tools don't look like last century products for sure. You can't compete with the price and features on this drill and if you end up spending more for another brand than you are just used to paying more for your tools. Gen5x excels at being powerful advanced and affordable. Lifetime Service Agreement on Home Depot Ridgid powertool purchases. I got this tool reconditioned on Ebay, but on the Gen5x Stealth Force Driver I bought from HD it took about 2 weeks from day of purchase to confirm LSA registry from Ridgid. Add a lifetime of free service batteries and parts and you really do get more with orange than yellow or red.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID.

There are dry wall screw guns on the market that are better designed for that application. However, the R86116K hammer drill can be used to drive screws into sheet rock.

Answer:
With the micro settings on the torque with this drill they are very precise to any standard requirements. Yes I have not had a problem using it on a few sheet rock fixes that I've done.
