Rated 1 out of 5 by shiltzy00 from Blade Wobble I bought this because it's a great machine with everything I could ever want in a miter saw. I've been reading about the blade wobble for over a year now and have seen many positive reviews without this defect lately so I figured they addressed the issue. I set it up and it has the wobble!! I called CS and they said to return it and look at the serial number. first two letters are worthless but the next four numbers should be 1725 and above so I'm assuming there are just still bad units out there but the issue has been addressed and updated units are out there. why wouldn't they recall the bad ones and get them off the shelf. It's one store, Home Depot. I'm not a happy fella but understand that defects happen. So I will go find a unit that has that serial number, set it up, and if it's still an issue I will be forced to bring it and the stand back and "cough cough" buy the dewalt DWS780. free stand included with it right now. I hope it truly is fixed. This is my first Rigid power tool and may be the last if it's not fixed. If it is fixed, I will change my rating to the appropriate place. I got this saw for 350 in store. online is saying 499. I wonder if the updated units are going to be 499?

Rated 4 out of 5 by bskoreyko from Great saw and it cuts like a boss! I did not have the wobble issue so many people have mentioned. Perhaps Ridgid fixed the issue or it was just a bad batch. It is also possible that people missed the step about adding oil to the outer blade washer. FYI there are two blade washers (inner and outer), the manual clearly states to remove the outer blade washer and place a drop of oil on it. After oiling the outer blade washer, you replace the outer washer and re-assemble the saw (more details in the manual). I bought this saw for home use and love it! This saw is likely overkill for the projects I have but I bought the saw hoping to have it for a lifetime. I would recommend this saw to anyone looking for a superior quality saw loaded with excellent features. The other huge bonus is that the saw comes with a limited life time service warranty. The LED cut line is not a "laser guide" LED thus it can be hard or near impossible to see the cut line when cutting outdoors in the sun. Overall, I give the Ridgid R4221 4 out of 5 stars because I haven't it long enough to say it's a long lasting, reliable product. When I bought my Ridgid R4221 there was a Father's Day promotion so I also received a free Ridgid MSUV (AC9946) Mitre Saw Stand. The saw and stand are usually sold separately.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Gcpitt from Blade wabble Got this saw today was so excited to have another ridgit miter saw for my crew to work with, all the options on the saw were what convinced me to purchase the saw, got back home set it up and as soon as I ran it I noticed that the blade was wobbling way too much, I set my 90 degree square and gently turn the blade by hand to check the reason and I tell you what after marking the blade on zero turned it around and the blade was almost 1/8" away from my square. I have many ridgit tools that I am very happy with but this one is not!! going back to return it tomorrow

Rated 5 out of 5 by Duece49 from Work horse Located this saw at my local Home Depot on sale. Picked it up and got it home for set up. Easy set up, great features. Not sure what the blade wobble talk is, mine works perfect, no issues. I did have an issue with the LSA and am currently waiting for a response.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ButchP from Stay away from this model! Upon setting this saw up, I experienced blade wobble that was extremely noticable. When contacting Rigid, I was told to return for a newer stock that they didn't all do this. Well I returned it and the second one was even worse. This on had blade wobble and also a sound like a bad bearing in the motor. Very poor quality assurance. Don't buy the R4221!

Rated 2 out of 5 by CarlosWoodWorks from Wobble - not what I expected from this brand I bought this saw based on price and brand quality compared to others out there. When I set up the saw and put the blade on, the saw had significant more wobble than I expected. I took the blade off and reviewed the set up per the instructions and still had the same issue. I did buy a red blade, but did not switch it out yet. Any suggestion on anything I can do to adjust it or am I stuck with a wobble on the saw?

Rated 2 out of 5 by RafterJ from Saw functionality I noticed when I was setting up the saw that I was not able to get a 45 by 45 degree because of the fences even though they were slid out as far as possible. Then started checking reviews and found that there is blade wobble. Happy with the price and LSA. But when will these problems be fixed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Shark89 from This saw is well built, has excellent features and is well priced. When shopping for my saw I compared this saw to most others in the market and found it had more features at a lower cost than most others. I was told about the "wobble" issues, so I tried my saw at the store, it work perfectly and continues to perform great everyday.
