Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good saw I like this saw for less than heavy duty cutting. My only complaint is with the throat plate. It is not level with the table and does not provide support when cutting narrow pieces. This allows the piece to 'fall' towards the blade and ruin the piece. I will be replacing the throat plate with a home made one. Other than that, I love this saw. The arbor nut becomes very tight and the wrenches provided are not long enough or strong enough to handle it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would reccomend this saw. If you buy this saw the first thing you need to do is go to a fastener store and buy a 5/8-18 grade 8 hex nut to replace the nut on the saw arbor. The original nut is soft and extremely difficult, and almost impossible, to remove after you have used the saw for any time at all. Other than that the saw works good. I found that the cross cut guide to not quite straight so if you make a cross cut sled use only one slot. Also the slots are not quite the same width so I filed them open where needed using a caliper to check the opening. The cross cut guide is cheap, but can be made to work just fine for the average person. The blade is quite a bit smaller than the slot so I went on McMaster Carr's website and ordered shim stock with adhesive backing and added it to the blade. The rip fence works just fine. I added a removable extra plywood piece using the slots provided to use as a fixture base. I have never had a fine adjustment guide and in fact really do not need one. All the talk about one being missing on this saw is bull c-ap. This saw is quite comparable to all the other contractor saws and I think better than most. My favorite feature is the fold up base that allows me to take my saw out of my 8x12 foot man cave and work on the patio.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Entry Saw This saw is great for a newbie to woodworking. I bought this saw a few years ago and it does everything I need. Compared to other contractor saws you're going to get about just as much power. The one thing I found to be a plus was the extra rip capability that some similar saws didn't (dewalt). I'm a huge fan of the stand that comes with it as I have to drag my saw in and out of the garage every time I use it. When I bought the saw it was a bit higher priced than average for a 15amp saws but it was worth it for the stand and rip points. Now I see a few other brands coming out that mimic this design but at a lower price point, something to consider (Kobalt and WEN). Two things to consider that I found to be an issue; 1, I don't like to use a standard thickness kerf blades (1/8"). It seems to bog the machine down when cutting at regular pace. I switched to a thin kerf blade and that made all the difference. 2. after about 3 years of use the brushes got packed with sawdust. I vacuum the saw out about once a project but I still ran into this issue. This is a simple fix but I would like to see a bit more resilience in this area, or maybe i just need to clean the saw out more... TBD. Overall a good saw to get me going.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive Portable Tool I have used the 10" portable table saw for about two years now without any issues. Works flawlessly for cutting and ripping boards and sheets. I have been so impressed by the saw I have recommended it to friends and family. While it is not a full table saw with all a full table saw capabilities, I believe this is the best value portable table saw on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I highly recommend this saw. I have owned 2 over 10 years. The first is still with my worker, the latest I just gave my son. I just bought a Ridgid 10" portable as it is lighter and easier to carry because I am getting Old. :(

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice saw for hobbiest I've had this saw for several years now and it is still going strong. Large boards might bog down a bit so need to sneak up on the cut. I have 2 main complaints though: First the blade guard is REALLY bad. Mine will waver a bit during a cut and several times I have ended up cutting the guard along with the board. I wish I could just have a riving knife. Second, there is no good way to capture dust. Dust shoots out of the back of the machine getting everywhere. It did not come with any kind of dust port. And I haven't found a good way to capture the dust that flows to the bottom. This machine really makes a mess and since I am using half of a garage the dust is a big deal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from R4513 perfect for me I loved this saw. Looked at several similar saws but came back to this one. Good price, easy to set up easy to use period. H/D rip fence and expandable table were great selling points to me. What closed the deal was the lifetime warranty. Home depot salesman said " anything goes wrong with it just bring it back to us and we will take care of it." i was cutting 1x4 window trim when I heard the motor bog down. I pulled out of the cut and the motor coasted to a stop. I figured reset button. Nope, no reset on the motor. Took it to my local Home depot for repair. Imagine my surprise when I was told 4-6 weeks for repair. Home depot sends the saw to Arizona for repair. What kind of a deal is that? The way the warranty was presented to me, it would be repaired in the tool rental area. Nothing about sending it out. The real kicker is that I was cutting the last two pieces of trim to complete my living room remodel. I had to go to my son's house and "borrow" my 25 year old Delta table top to finish. OK, to wind this up, Rigid, the various reviews show that these motors seem to have been a problem since the saw came out. If this is the case, Rigid should have be pro active and had repair parts available to quickly return a man's tools back to him asap. I depend on my equipment. I'm sure I am not the only one. I recommended the saw in the review, but that could change quickly. If it does take a full 6 weeks to get my saw back, It will most likely be my last rigid product. That's not to be taken as a threat, It's just the way I am.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID.

We sent the Owner’s manual on the email provided when submitting your review.

There is not a written detailed comparison to provide between the two models you are inquiring about. The differences are the absence of the motors soft start feature, and the fence micro-adjusting feature on the R4513, as well as some slight cosmetic differences.

Answer:
To respond to your question about the differences, my answer would be almost everything. Fortunately, the saw remains very easy to use and extremely accurate for a portable saw. My generalized answer is really based on the components of the saw. Ridgid changed almost all of them. As a user, the primary differences would be: the throat plate is now square instead of rounded, the miter gauge is much lighter and doesn't seem as substantial, the rip fence no longer has a micro adjustment (never used it anyway), but the primary thing in my opinion is the motor. Then new motor spins at a no load speed which is 600 rpm faster than the R4510. Maybe its just my imagination, but this seems to produce a smoother cut. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your interest!

Home Depot purchases the R4513 saw and stand as a complete packaged product from RIDGID for retail distribution, so there is not an ability to purchase just the saw or stand separately.

If your R4513 table saw purchase was missing the stand, you should return the saw to the distributor as an incomplete product. The stand is not available separately.
