Rated 2 out of 5 by Blueball from Reduced durability VS previous models I have had to use bandaids and kind words to keep this saw running as long as it has. I have owned several Ridgid table saws over the last 15 years. This one broke far faster than any previous model. The durability of this model is sub-par. A crack formed in the table top within 8 months. Now the motor bearings are completely shot. The design is good. Easy to move, easy to use. Seems to have a bit more power than previous models. Don't buy it if you plan to use it professionally.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Pretty good saw I like this saw for less than heavy duty cutting. My only complaint is with the throat plate. It is not level with the table and does not provide support when cutting narrow pieces. This allows the piece to 'fall' towards the blade and ruin the piece. I will be replacing the throat plate with a home made one. Other than that, I love this saw. The arbor nut becomes very tight and the wrenches provided are not long enough or strong enough to handle it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by texasjim from I would reccomend this saw. If you buy this saw the first thing you need to do is go to a fastener store and buy a 5/8-18 grade 8 hex nut to replace the nut on the saw arbor. The original nut is soft and extremely difficult, and almost impossible, to remove after you have used the saw for any time at all. Other than that the saw works good. I found that the cross cut guide to not quite straight so if you make a cross cut sled use only one slot. Also the slots are not quite the same width so I filed them open where needed using a caliper to check the opening. The cross cut guide is cheap, but can be made to work just fine for the average person. The blade is quite a bit smaller than the slot so I went on McMaster Carr's website and ordered shim stock with adhesive backing and added it to the blade. The rip fence works just fine. I added a removable extra plywood piece using the slots provided to use as a fixture base. I have never had a fine adjustment guide and in fact really do not need one. All the talk about one being missing on this saw is bull c-ap. This saw is quite comparable to all the other contractor saws and I think better than most. My favorite feature is the fold up base that allows me to take my saw out of my 8x12 foot man cave and work on the patio.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Brintos from Great Entry Saw This saw is great for a newbie to woodworking. I bought this saw a few years ago and it does everything I need. Compared to other contractor saws you're going to get about just as much power. The one thing I found to be a plus was the extra rip capability that some similar saws didn't (dewalt). I'm a huge fan of the stand that comes with it as I have to drag my saw in and out of the garage every time I use it. When I bought the saw it was a bit higher priced than average for a 15amp saws but it was worth it for the stand and rip points. Now I see a few other brands coming out that mimic this design but at a lower price point, something to consider (Kobalt and WEN). Two things to consider that I found to be an issue; 1, I don't like to use a standard thickness kerf blades (1/8"). It seems to bog the machine down when cutting at regular pace. I switched to a thin kerf blade and that made all the difference. 2. after about 3 years of use the brushes got packed with sawdust. I vacuum the saw out about once a project but I still ran into this issue. This is a simple fix but I would like to see a bit more resilience in this area, or maybe i just need to clean the saw out more... TBD. Overall a good saw to get me going.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Klondike from Impressive Portable Tool I have used the 10" portable table saw for about two years now without any issues. Works flawlessly for cutting and ripping boards and sheets. I have been so impressed by the saw I have recommended it to friends and family. While it is not a full table saw with all a full table saw capabilities, I believe this is the best value portable table saw on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Malcolmi from I highly recommend this saw. I have owned 2 over 10 years. The first is still with my worker, the latest I just gave my son. I just bought a Ridgid 10" portable as it is lighter and easier to carry because I am getting Old. :(

1. let me know where I can get a copy of the instruction manual. 2. What is the difference between the r4513 and the older model r4510?
To respond to your question about the differences, my answer would be almost everything. Fortunately, the saw remains very easy to use and extremely accurate for a portable saw. My generalized answer is really based on the components of the saw. Ridgid changed almost all of them. As a user, the primary differences would be: the throat plate is now square instead of rounded, the miter gauge is much lighter and doesn't seem as substantial, the rip fence no longer has a micro adjustment (never used it anyway), but the primary thing in my opinion is the motor. Then new motor spins at a no load speed which is 600 rpm faster than the R4510. Maybe its just my imagination, but this seems to produce a smoother cut. Hope this helps.

is the the motor burn out protected?
Made the mistake of ripping a 2x6 w/ fine tooth blade. and it won't run now. did I burn out the motor?
The switch has circuitry that will protect the motor. If it gets hot, it will melt inside the switch. My saw is put off warranty so I bypassed the burned out circuitry with a new switch, works great. Be sure to use the proper sharp blades and don't abuse the saw.

Is there an option to buy the saw without the stand?
I don't need the stand. Is there an option to purchase it at a lower price without the stand? Thanks!
No, the stand is part of the kit

What material is the Table Top made of?
I don't believe this to be cast iron, but it feels too dense to be aluminum. Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID. The RIDGID R4513 table saws table top is powder coated cast aluminum. Regards, RIDGID

Actual cut depth on the 90?
In one section of this ad, it states this saw can rip through 4" X 4" material in a single pass for fast and accurate cuts. Then in the specifications area, it states the cut depth is 3.5" on the 90°. Please give the specific/accurate cut depth that this saw is capable of.
