Rated 5 out of 5 by from INcredible tool for all of the jobs! This tool has been a lifesaver for various jobs around the house. From removing door jambs to sanding porch railing, I would highly recommend this to anyone. It's incredibly simple to switch tool attachments between tasks and move along quickly to the next thing. As always with Rigid comes the excellent battery life for more work and less waiting. If you're in the market for your next multi-tool, I highly recommend this one!

Mine has thermo cut off one time however that could of been caused by to much pressure and lower RPM, for cutting sheetrock at an akward angle. Because thats the only time its shutdown on me in the past 2-3 weeks and its mo go to tool now. I will say in the instructions Ridgid does caution pressure and how to judge it as well as running full rpm with no load to cool tool down so i trily believe had I been able to operate it in that condition it would not have shutdown. Just my two cents! But all included Ridgid powertolls are of awesome quality and power I highly recommend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid and very handy tool The cordless JobMax tool has come in very handy for me as a contractor. The plunge cut blades are great for cutting back trim and getting into areas with much more precision than a reciprocating saw can manage. Also, the versatility and reasonable price for other tool heads is a great boon. I purchased the right angle driver for the few times that I need something more compact than my standard driver and that head has worked well. Additionally, I purchased the reciprocating saw head which works well. I wouldn't recommend it for all day heavy demolition, but it worked well under moderate load cutting through stacked 2X material. The head change-out can be a little tricky at times with having to depress retaining buttons on both sides of the tool head while pulling simultaneously. The heads do make solid, positive connections and the tool has a good balance and rugged, but comfortable feel for longer tasks. Overall, a well designed tool that is up to most tasks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This tool shuts off constantly due to a heat sensor which is annoying. This tool has a sensor that detects its heat temperature. This sensor makes the tool to shut off and stop working constantly. It is annoying having to stop often and wait until it cools down. I have a 12 volts oscillating from Ridgid that doesn't shut off like the 18 volts do. Don't waste your money.

Decided to go with Ridgid after reading great reviews and the lifetime warranty was the deal closer. Bought the hammer drill and the circ saw and loved both do I bought the Job Max because I needed to under cut done door frames. I hadn't replaced my DeWalt recip saw yet so I picked up the recip head for this, I've done a couple jobs since then that required a recip saw, I used the Job Max and was surprised, I didn't miss my full sized saw at all. I was planning on buying the recip saw very soon, but after using this in going to wait and buy a couple other things first. I will get to the Gen5 recip eventually, but I don't need it right now, the Job Max had the power I need for now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tool for Renovation Work I use the oscillating head to cut in tight places. Great for cutting out rotted wood door frame sections. Many other cutting jobs as well. I have 2 oscillating heads. They have a tool-less head now which I may get. Sometimes the heads are hard to remove but they are getting a little easier now with use.

Can this tool be used as a masonry cutoff tool?

Can this tool be used with a masonry (stone, tile, granite) cutoff wheel to trim a 1/4 in. thick stone backsplash? If so, what is the recommended cutoff wheel?

It can but attachment part are expensive and better use different tool with cheaper blade, unless area is small and other tools can't do it.

Battery for Jobmax??

Does the Ridgid CS1020 18V battery work with the Jobmax 18V??

All RIDGID 18V platform tools and batteries are interchangeable. However, the RIDGID 18V Lithium Ion batteries do require their correct charger. CS1020 is a manufacturing date code on a battery, not a model ID for a specific battery. Thanks, RIDGID

Will the Job Max multi tool come with a carrying bag soon?
