Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great Works great, runs in and out a little slower than I would like but that prevents from cramming spring into blockage i guess. Ran through 1 1/2" pipe with a 45 and 2 90's in about a 6' span, did not kink or bind.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tool performed as it should The tool is easy to use and functioned flawlessly but it wasn't heavy enough for the job at hand (basement drain).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Worked like a charm and was very easy to use. Had a bad clog in the tub and this pulled it (a mass of hair) right out after the second try. Would recommend this product to save a bundle!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product. Gets the job done. I used this drain snake to clear a clog in my bathtub. It did exactly what I needed it to do. It seems like the feeders could grab a little better and wears out your forearms after a while of use, but I'm sure it's designed that way for a reason. I would buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great. When my washer machine started backing up into my laundry tub or the draining of the kitchen sink on the main floor and it backs up in the laundry tub, I knew something was wrong. Upon using my old drain snake nothing happened. Upon purchasing this product and using it my drain got unplugged with ease and no more water backing up in the laundry tub. I wold definitely recommend this product as it works.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful tool Bought this at Home Depot because I didn't want to cheap out. My dad always taught me that buying a good quality tool is worth paying extra for, so next to the generic Home Depot drain snakes I said "well, this looks nice". It worked fine the first two times I used it, but as many other reviewers have stated it just isn't durable. The locking pin to make it extend or retract is fussy and hard to work, the cable is almost impossible to retract no matter what, and this time through the cable bent. I threw it in the trash. I'll do some research and buy something better, I suggest you do as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Drain cleaner/clearer Saw this item in Home Depot. Recommended by a plumbing savvy fellow customer. He was right! It worked great to clear the clog and for the price, much cheaper than calling a plumber. Now we have it for the future. Only drawback is there rewind feature is not that good, but you can feed the snake back into the chamber by hand. Recommend this product.

Storage

Hi, after using this and it is wet, any recommendations as far as drying it before storing it. Will it rust?

Answer:
Sure it will rust when put in water the first time given the materials. But a coating of sprayed on WD-40 will seal and stop this if done before the first use, and helps stop rust of the snake. Plus this makes clean up much more simple. Oil and water do not mix, so the waste material rinses of before storage. Some times the simple answer is just simple.

Answer:
I have not attempted any specific procedure for drying it, but it would seem logical that if you extend the "snake" to its full length, spray if off with water, and allow it to air dry, it should be fine to store it without fear of rusting. If you put it up wet with the drain residue still on it, you can expect it to rust, I would think. I am not sure of the material that the snake is made, perhaps it is treated in some way to resist rust (i.e., aluminum alloy or galvanized.)

Answer:
We do recommend in the operating instructions that teh cable and drum should be rinsed and let to air dry before storage to help prevent rusting. If you have any further questions please contact our Technical Support Department at 888-743-4333.
