Model WD1450

This RIDGID® 14 gallon High Performance Wet/Dry Vac is designed to deliver the powerful suction, large capacity, and rugged construction in a more compact design than is offered in our largest cart type vacs. The vacuum’s 14 gallon drum size helps us achieve a more compact overall design but it still provides a big capacity capable of handling large job-site chores. The 6.0 peak HP motor delivers the high performance necessary to handle these chores. Other key features include; a 3-layer fine dust filter captures dry wall dust, accessories are stored on-board, casters provide 360° mobility. Add a top handle with a cord wrap, heavy duty 2-piece drum construction, a large drain and you’ve got a wet/dry vac that achieves the demands of Pro’s on the job site or in the shop.

Features

  • 6.0 Peak HP Motor provides powerful suction to handle tough jobsite clean-up
  • Scroll Noise Reduction® is a patented feature that provides quiet operation by precisely controlling the flow of air through the vac
  • 4 Swivel Casters provide easy 360° mobility
  • Quick Release on-board accessory holder offers storage space for 5 accessories plus the hose
  • 2-Piece Drum provides improved, more rugged construction to meet the higher demands found on the job site
  • 3-layer Fine Dust Filter captures fine dust particles such as dry wall dust
  • 7' Dual-Flex® Locking Hose resists collapsing and adds 180˚ flexibility at both hose ends. Hose locks onto vac for uninterrupted cleaning
  • Large Carry Handle allows easy lifting of vac into service vehicle
  • Long 20’ Cord wraps neatly around carry handle
  • Powerful exhaust airstream can be directed through the vac hose to blow debris from garages, decks, and sidewalks

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 451 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works Great, Even Very Fine Dust I sawed out piles of grout from the kitchen floor tiles. Problem. 25+ year old Craftsman shop vac, no matter what filter or modification I tried, put significant amounts of dust into the air. I didn't think I needed a new shop vac. I mean, the old one sucked up debris well enough. With this grout dust all over the floor and no clean way to pick it up, I began to think about how many times I had NOT used the old shop vac due to dust in the exhaust. I purchased model number WD14500. It came with the fine dust cartridge filter. I supplemented it with the Dry Pickup Dust Bag. When I was assembling the filtration, I could already see that I had significantly upgraded. I could see where the paper filter held by rubber bands in my old shop vac was no match. Now for the grout dust test with my new machine...Wonderful! Not a grain of dust into the air! Super clean. Powerful suction. And quieter. I only wish I hadn't put up with the old vac all those years, and purchased this one sooner! July 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Vac! This thing will suck the concrete off of your garage floor! Has great suction power, easy to move around the garage/shop. Would recommend to anyone looking for a new shop vac! July 20, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Powerful. Quiet. Good price. Good quality. Attachment and hose storage a little awkward. I highly recommend this product. Better still if you can get it on sale. July 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product awesome price I love my old shopvac but at the price that you get this one producing about the same power I have to fall in love with this one July 1, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Great Value I purchased the WD1450 which also included the vehicle cleaning attachments. I used it to vacuum the garage floor and was impressed with the units ability to pick up any debris I came across. I also used it to clean the interior of our car. The attachments made cleaning easy and produced great results. I am very pleased with this model. It's great for home use but not so sure you would buy the model for construction projects. June 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by I am extremely impressed how quiet this unit is. My old one is 3 times as loud. I enjoy cleaning out my truck now Excellent tool!!! I will definitely use it more often!! June 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by The reviews were correct - outstanding product! Purchased WD1450 to replace older RIDGID wet dry vacuum after reading numerous reviews. It is a new purchase but so far we are very pleased. We use it for a variety of household chores and love the suction, the relative quiet sound and the special filter that is included with this model. The set up took less than 15 minutes and the unit is easy to maneuver around the house or the outside areas. It has lived up to my expectations based on the research and reviews. June 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding! Fantastic Vacuum! This product is worth every penny! June 23, 2016

Answer:
If you can removed the filter it would be better, if you must be aware you will need to purchase a replacement sooner than later. Once the filter gets wet you loose ALOT of suction and cause the motor to run hotter, continued use like this will cause the motor to fail, Just like covering your radiator in your car and going down the highway, it will do it but not for long.

Better to just remove, also gives you a chance to clean it and keep the unit running at its best.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

When vacuuming liquids, please take note that when picking up small amounts of liquid the filter may be left in place and when picking up large amounts of liquid we recommend that the filter be removed. If the filter is not removed, it will become saturated and misting may appear in the exhaust.

We hope this meets your needs.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to call us at 1-800-4-RIDGID (1-800-474-3443) or you may send your email to [email protected]

Don't have a DB meter handy but it is a shop vac, it will be hard to hear if you are in a small room. This unit is MUCH quieter than the unit it replaced. It is better than older units.

uhhh...call me lame, but a "decible meter" is NOT a piece of equip. that anyone I know (including myself) would tend to purchase...so I can't answer this question. IF the owners manuel lists the decible level, I'm not about to go fish for that info. Sorry. That's an unusual question to ask a custormer. Decible level? Really?

Answer:
Thank you for contacting RIDGID.

Most hoses sold by RIDGID will fit the WD1450. While most of our hoses utilize the locking tab, some do offer friction fit adapters. These adapters use friction to hold the hose in place. For example the VT2570 Pro Hose comes with with friction fit adapters and will work perfect in the WD1450.

The VT2570 can be purchased at many of the fine locations that carry RIDGID Wet/Dry Vacs.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to call us at 1-800-4-RIDGID or you may send your email to [email protected]
