Model WD1450

This RIDGID® 14 gallon High Performance Wet/Dry Vac is designed to deliver the powerful suction, large capacity, and rugged construction in a more compact design than is offered in our largest cart type vacs. The vacuum’s 14 gallon drum size helps us achieve a more compact overall design but it still provides a big capacity capable of handling large job-site chores. The 6.0 peak HP motor delivers the high performance necessary to handle these chores. Other key features include; a 3-layer fine dust filter captures dry wall dust, accessories are stored on-board, casters provide 360° mobility. Add a top handle with a cord wrap, heavy duty 2-piece drum construction, a large drain and you’ve got a wet/dry vac that achieves the demands of Pro’s on the job site or in the shop.

Features

  • 6.0 Peak HP Motor provides powerful suction to handle tough jobsite clean-up
  • Scroll Noise Reduction® is a patented feature that provides quiet operation by precisely controlling the flow of air through the vac
  • 4 Swivel Casters provide easy 360° mobility
  • Quick Release on-board accessory holder offers storage space for 5 accessories plus the hose
  • 2-Piece Drum provides improved, more rugged construction to meet the higher demands found on the job site
  • 3-layer Fine Dust Filter captures fine dust particles such as dry wall dust
  • 7' Dual-Flex® Locking Hose resists collapsing and adds 180˚ flexibility at both hose ends. Hose locks onto vac for uninterrupted cleaning
  • Large Carry Handle allows easy lifting of vac into service vehicle
  • Long 20’ Cord wraps neatly around carry handle
  • Powerful exhaust airstream can be directed through the vac hose to blow debris from garages, decks, and sidewalks

Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is more durable than any other brand I have tried I own several of these Rigid shop vacuums. They get heavy run time in an industrial setting and I find they are more durable than other brands I've tried and the warranty is excellent. We did have a problem with one, they had us send in just the head to check out the issue and a couple weeks later we received a completely new vacuum with an additional filter to cover our cost of shipping the old one in. Customer service was very knowledgeable and helpful, everything went through with no issues. I will definitely buy this product again. August 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by easy to drag around I've only had this a few weeks but i am pleased with this product so far. I didn't give 5 stars on durability becasue i haven't had it long enough. I'm using it for dust collection on my table saw and router table and so far so good. I also can now quickly clean the garage floor. I really like the low center of gravity as it is easy to drag around. My only complaint is there is not place to put the hose while not in use so it just lays around taking up space. August 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is my second Ridgid wetvac. Tried a cheaper product and took it back after one use. The 14 gal wet vac is lighter and easier to move through narrow doors. The larger diameter hose helps to vacuum without clogging. I am very happy with my decision and the quality of the product. Jimmie August 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very well made, this is my first Ridgid vac I don't know what took me so long to go with the best! I've personally never owned one of the Ridgid vacs before. I'm definitely impressed with all the features and how well its built. August 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Products is powerful and easy to use Use it regularly and know it is reliable which is all I care August 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by This bad boy really sucks!!! In a good way I bought this vac at home depot for $99.00. I was not expecting it to preform as well as it did. I did Learn you have to be careful around the tack strips. This vac will pull the carpet right off the floor. I think the attachments could fit on a little tighter. But that's it August 19, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pros & Cons This is a powerful vacuum with many useful attachments. Mine even came with special car cleaning accessories. Nice long power cord. Construction seems very sturdy. My biggest complaint is that the wheels stick out and constantly get caught when maneuvering around obstacles and corners. When I tug the hose comes off of the tank. Perhaps I am not attaching it properly? I can't judge durability since I have only had it for a few months. Ask me in a few years. August 18, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great, but dust bags very expensive Great machine, very powerful. Bought this Vac because I bought an old workshop where they built wooden boats long time ago and it looked as if no cleaning was done the last 10 years, most was very fine dust. I bought 2 bags to keep the fine dust out of the main filter, it works fine but these bags are very expensive. I made the bags re-usable to cut cost, but this is something Ridgid should look at. This is the reason I put at overall rating and durability only 4 stars. August 17, 2016

It is not recommended. Depending on your use you can remove the pleated paper filter or purchase a sponge type filter that will replace the pleated paper filter.

Answer:
If you can removed the filter it would be better, if you must be aware you will need to purchase a replacement sooner than later. Once the filter gets wet you loose ALOT of suction and cause the motor to run hotter, continued use like this will cause the motor to fail, Just like covering your radiator in your car and going down the highway, it will do it but not for long.

Better to just remove, also gives you a chance to clean it and keep the unit running at its best.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

When vacuuming liquids, please take note that when picking up small amounts of liquid the filter may be left in place and when picking up large amounts of liquid we recommend that the filter be removed. If the filter is not removed, it will become saturated and misting may appear in the exhaust.

We hope this meets your needs.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to call us at 1-800-4-RIDGID (1-800-474-3443) or you may send your email to [email protected]

Answer:
Thank you for contacting RIDGID.

Most hoses sold by RIDGID will fit the WD1450. While most of our hoses utilize the locking tab, some do offer friction fit adapters. These adapters use friction to hold the hose in place. For example the VT2570 Pro Hose comes with with friction fit adapters and will work perfect in the WD1450.

The VT2570 can be purchased at many of the fine locations that carry RIDGID Wet/Dry Vacs.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to call us at 1-800-4-RIDGID or you may send your email to [email protected]

Our new porch with insulated floor has water trapped between flooring deck and plastic sheeting over floor joists, and I need to get rid of the water before laying carpet. Since the flooring panels are tongue/groove, it would be extremely difficult to remove, so I am using my shop vac to draw water from a wet seam with the utility nozzle... hopefully, this works. I have run it for 10 minutes without any sign of overheating, but I would like to know how long it can run before needing a rest. Duty cycle isn't specified, but if it is 100%, I expect I can run it hours rather than minutes. An expert opinion from Ridgid would be greatly appreciated.
