Rated 5 out of 5 by The best Shopvac I have ever owned I must say that this Shopvac is the best of the best that I have ever used in my garage. I use it to clean out my car and truck and then some. This Shopvac has enough Power for me and I really like it. I would recommend This product To my friends and family and who ever else I run in to at the home-improvement Store. Awesome Shopvac love it. July 1, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Vacuum, love it. This shop vacuum has far more suction than any other that I have used (mostly Craftsman & ShopVac). And it is also the quietest I have ever experienced. The internal bag is a great feature for making the filter last longer, and to greatly simplify emptying the vacuumed material. I have several shop vacuums and when the next one dies, I'll buy another of these. June 7, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Replacement of the rigid vacuum I have purchased major Rigid tools from Home Depot including several of the 16 gallon vacuum's. And replacement has been good but I have had to return to store to the Home Depot store in Masena New York several times several times which is an hour away. June 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by This vac sucks! Bought it for shop dust collection and 200cfm of suck power. Does an excellent job at a fraction of the price of some other setups and wall vacs. The only wish I would have is if they made the same vac into a slim wall mount version for the garage. June 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by suction is good I have only had about a week however the vaccum has more suction than any other wet/dry vac i have used. for the price I cannot complain at this time and have not had time to run it through the course yet.look forward to see how well it does over time. however have been impressed with the rigdid circular saw and the 18volt combo kit, also the miter stands is one of the best i have used and the warranty canot be beat. Rated 5 out of 5 by For my "Show Pony"... I have always been a Ridgid Wet/Dry Vac fan, as I currently own two others. 1 smaller unit for household project clean-up, and 1 larger unit for auto detailing, garage clean-up. As of November 2015 I purchased my first "hot Rod" so to speak, a 2004 Mustang GT Convertible with 12000 original miles !!! SCORE !!! Well, I couldn't use those "OLD" Ridgid vacuums for this baby. So I decided to upgrade and give my pony it's own Vac !!! This thing is EXCEPTIONAL !! Great suction, Nice long power cord, Super quiet with the INCLUDED muffler, and a great assortment of tools included to get most common users started. I do a fair share of detailing so I purchased EVERY tool possible for my machine !! The cart is a great feature, it doesn't roll away nearly as much as the common shop vac normally does !! OVERALL: Don't waste time with similar models in this power/price range, I'll save you the time... BUY THE RIDGID !!! May 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by You can.t go wrong with this vac. Works great, easy to put together except for the two big wheels. The nuts that go onto the axle do not fit well. Should have a threaded nut to hold the wheels on. May 10, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great wet/vac with one issue Excellent suction. One of the quietest shop vacs. Variety of accessories available. The only issue is that two extension wands and any attached nozzles are held together by friction. With the excellent suction it is very easy for the extension wands or the attached nozzle to pull off. It would be better to screw together or latch in some manner. My solution is to screw short sheet metal screws through the plastic to hold the attachments together. Durability is unknown at this point. May 5, 2016

Pressure

If a airwatts are 0.117354 * (CFM) * (inches water), then do I calculate correctly that this model no. WD1851 will lift water 12.8 inches high?

306 watts * (1/0.117354) * (1/203 CFM) = 12.8 inches of water

I feel like that number is way too low - I'm sure your product lifts water more than 1 foot high! I may have the calculation wrong or the pressure may be specified another way. What do the units of "G/h" mean?

Besides, it seems like an odd coincidence that this is almost exactly the inches for model WD4070 when the WD4070 is rated 5.0 peak HP and the model on this page is rated 6.5 peak HP.

Thank you for the help.

Answer:
According to our Product Manager, You need to first think of CFM and Inches of water lift in inches as two different and inversely related measurements. To maximize CFM, you need a wide open path with as little resistance as possible to move as much air as possible. To maximize inches of lift (or better recognize or measure) that flow of air needs to be restricted, or blocked. So to assume that our machines generate 203 CFM and 49 inches of lift at the same time is a miss-conception. The calculation you completed was “at 306 air watts and 203 CFM, what are the inches of lift being produced”… and the answer is 12.8. Essentially, you’ve identified the inches of lift at the rated max CFM and Air Watts. For example, if you solved for CFM at max inches (say 49) you get a really small CFM number, somewhere below .2 CFM. This is because at max inches (the hose is blocked) and there is “no” air moving through the hose.

We hope this helps. Have a good week ahead!

Thank you

Answer:
Thank you, RIDGID! That really helped me understand how the pressure and CFM are related, and the calculation result of 12.8 inches makes sense now. I didn't realize the airwatts equation was NOT referring to "sealed" inches of water. Now I see why using sealed inches for calculating airwatts wouldn't make any sense.

You mentioned 49 inches a couple times. Is that the sealed lift this vacuum is rated for? If not, would you please share the max water lift rating?

Thank you again.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

Please confirm the exact model of your vac. The WD16650 model is not designed to hold a filter bag. But the product above is the model number WD1851 which is designed to accommodate a filter bag. If your vac is WD1851, the part number of the filter bag is VF3502.
