Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Tool I bought this at Home Depot to replace my older saw. I am a custom wood shop so everything I do must be dead on as well having original designs. This saw is so versatile and it takes much of the eyeballing out of the equation. The lasers perform perfectly to cut a double bevel and I have not had any issues with a compound cut. The gradual spool up is great as well. If you are looking for a saw to have this is the one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My crew loves this saw! We have had this saw for over a year, and it's used by up to seven carpenters at a time...from finish carpentry, deck building, fences and gates, and custom furniture. It has held up amazingly well under that much use, only once i had to take the table apart for cleaning and lubrication after the adjustment got stiff from sawdust and aluminum chips (yes, it's been used to crosscut lots of aluminum shapes, reglets, and reveals). Its still in perfect working order, and perfect adjustment. I keep it clean and maintained, but it gets tons of hard use by guys who don't own it, if ya know what i mean. This is an awesome tool, I recommend it to anyone in the trades or anyone who wants a quality tool with loads of precision and capacity at a good price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a great product and the customer service from RIDGID is second to none! I bought this saw as I am an avid woodworker and do many construction projects around my house as well as on investment properties. The saw is very easy to use. Tons of great features and very well laid out. When I bought the saw it came with a bad casting on the fixed fence assembly. It was not able to be squared to the blade. I called customer support, gave them a model number and date of purchase and they mailed me a new fixed fence piece within 4 days. It literally was a 5 minute phone call. Even though there was a minor inconvenience of needing to do that, the fact that they sent me a new piece quickly, the process was as seamless as possible. Companies that stand behind their products like Ridgid just did is absolutely exceptional.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love this saw except..... This saw is exactly what I needed. Everything was square out of the box. It works great except the dust collection port is in a bad location and isn't very effective. I'm trying to engineer something in my garage to make it better. Overall, this saw is an excellent buy. About $100 cheaper than compare able other brand name models. I've had it for 2 months now and I love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great saw This has been a great saw for me so far. The only problem I have had is the saw losing square a few times. It's not that hard to recalibrate, but the saw was not dropped or anything causing it to go out of square. Otherwise, saw cuts really well, dust collection works pretty average, and bevel stops are accurate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best miter saw I've ever had hands down I've had several miter saws in my time, from cheap $60 harbor freight to a $400 DeWalt 12". This Ridgid 10" slider is nice and compound even with the slider and makes the smoothest cuts. I would highly recommend this saw to anyone! I'll never go with another brand and the lifetime warranty is just an add on you can't turn down.

Adjustment steps

Asked by: Pizza
Saw is very easy to adjust, just pull up on the tab and turn. Bevel adjustment is also easy- just turn knob to loosen and tighten knob at desired degree.

I have a new 10 in sliding compound miter saw Ms255SR. I would like to build a support table for it so that I can fit it between 2 of my shop counter

I would like to use the counter tops on either side to support the wood. Height and width are easy to figure but I'd love some help to decide the dimensions of the depth of the saw support table. How far back does the slide go? Does it need any space behind it or can it go to the wall? I'm a little worried the bed of the saw will be beyond the depths of the counter tops. Any help is much appreciated.

What gauge extension cord is required for this saw?

Asked by: snumb216
Thank you for contacting RIDGID. The gauge of extension cord depends on the length of the desired cord. If you are using a cord that is 10-40’ long, the gauge should be 14 or 16. If you are using a cord with length of 50’ or so, the gauge should be 14, and if you are using a cord that is 100’ long, you should be using a gauge of 12.

How much clearance is required behind the saw?

I want to mount this on a bench in my shop, but I don't know if I have enough room for the sliding mechanism. What is the minimum required clearance behind the saw? Ideally, what is the maximum depth from the front mounting holes to the rear of the slides when the saw is all the way back?
