Rated 4 out of 5 by the product is very easy to use changing the blade is simple enough even for me. their is a little vibration i am still trying to solve November 26, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by very good quality for the price range Easy blade changes and table adjustments. Wish mine came with the side bearings and better guide blocks. Had to buy cool blocks. Can't find upgrades for bearing guides or a riser upgrade to resaw thicker material. November 25, 2014

The optional rip fence assembly for use with the R474 band saw is currently not carried by Home Depot. It can be ordered direct from the RIDGID master parts distributor at 1-877-544-9253, under item #AC5001 or part #089030002410.

I recently purchased this saw and noticed the manual and your site have a picture of the power switch with a second switch above it. The unit I bought does not have the second switch. Can you please explain?

Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

The initial design of the R474 included a light along with the switch that you are referencing. However, that feature was done away with during development, and any manual and packaging included with the product when purchased, should not reference it. Changes are currently in the works for the on-line pictures and manual files.

Riser blocks?

It appears that this band saw is a hit with those who have purchased one so far and the price is great! I am not one of those yet. My hesitation is resaw ability. Will there be a riser block available? Will one from another manufacturer work? Does the 1 hp motor on this unit have enough power to do 12" resaws?

Answer:
Thank you for contacting RIDGID.

Riser block kit AC02RB1 is for use with the new RIDGID band saw model R474, and can be ordered through the RIDGID master parts and accessory distributor at, 1-877-544-9253.

The R474 band saw with a riser block is capable of doing 12” re-saw work with its 11.5 Amp motor, but like with any band saw, there are factors that can affect that, such as the TPI of the blade being used, the type of wood being cut, and the rate of feed, all of which can affect the performance and result.
