This kit is a steal at the current price of $179. I wanted to add a compact drill to my arsenal that used the same batteries as my larger Ridgid hammer drill. When I saw the price on this kit I figured I couldn't lose. The drill is what I expected. It is a decent general purpose compact cordless drill. It doesn't exude the same power or quality as my larger drill but I didn't expect it to. It works well and has all the functions one needs in a lightweight and compact package. The real surprise is the impact driver. It graduated from novelty to favorite tool in one use. Some have mentioned they found the power lacking. Being the first such tool I have owned I have no point of comparison but I will say it has handled everything I have thrown at it. It is indispensable for installing or removing fasteners from awkward locations. Not only is it compact but the impacting action keeps the bit seated into the fastener even if you can't put much force behind the tool. Invaluable for smaller helpers or fasteners in locations where you can't get directly behind it. If you've ever rounded out a Phillips driving it in or out of a difficult spot you are going to wonder how you ever did without one of these. The radio a nice addition. I would have never purchased it separately but it is great to have around. It includes an elastic strap for holding auxiliary audio sources and includes an 1/8in stereo plug so you don't have to worry about device compatibility. If it has a headphone jack it'll play through this radio. All of it comes in a nice tool bag and includes two low profile batteries and a charger. There is a lot of value in the charger and the batteries if you have multiple compatable cordless tools. They won't run any cordless saws for very long since they are the smaller 1.5Ahr but extra batteries are extra batteries. All of it comes packaged in a nice tool bag. Over all you can't go wrong. Even if you just buy it so you can use the drill to drill pilot holes and the driver to sink screws you will rapidly recoupe the $179 in time saved fiddling with bit swapping.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Krobar27 Under powered and poor battery life
I use my drills every day. I am a carpenter and do decks, remodels and new construction. When I was due for a new drill set the lifetime warranty was to hard to pass up. I have no complaints about the drill. The impact driver however is under powered. I have compared to coworkers drills and the rigid has been the weakest this far. Battery life is probably the most disappointing part of this kit. I will go through 2 batteries while co-workers go through 1 (same size batteries. This kit is great for a homeowner but would never recommend for a professional.

I have been using this kit heavily for over 3 months and I am well pleased with it. The radio is a great size for going job to job being in the HVAC industry. I love it. The impact is an impressive tool. Plenty of power for any general application. I have used it for ductwork, framing, mounting, you name it, it performed. Now for the drill, it's sub par in my own opinion. The "fuego" variations of ridgid power tools seem to be bottom line. Do not expect to use the high speed gear often or for any period of time. The safety limits integrated cut power as soon as any load is applied for a very short duration. On low speed (torque) setting, the drill performs well. Once the battery packs get very warm, though, the drill will once again become temperamental. I have yet to have the impact cut out even with warm/hot batteries. I would highly suggest purchasing the more expensive, but well worth it hammer drill/impact combo. The hammer drill is part of the X4 series just like the impact and performs noticeably better. Plus it's a hammer drill which can come in handy. If this kit came with the hammer drill, I would have had no complaints. The "fuego" drill is the weak point of the kit. I'm inclined to say all "fuego" equipment is similar. Stick with the X4's.

I love this set! I work in steel fabrication and use them regularly and under harsh conditions. The only complaint I have is the battery life under heavy use. With the long charge times I have to stop every few hours to let the battery's catch up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by VincentMQ Its a great combo.
Best drills. Both are nicely balanced, they feel strong and not to heavy. Having the LED's on the front of the drill make it perfect for when your up in the attic or basement and cant carry to many tools or an added flashlight. Im always raving about how awesome my two drills come in handy. People always notice the little portable radio and the fact that I can connect my Android smart phone and play my Iheart radio or my favorite local talk station. Keepup the good work RIDGID tools

I have a 24V Ridgid cordless drill and really love it...but I needed another drill or impact drill to help with putting decks together with family members. I could not find the 24V drills in the stores and looked very hard at the 18V series. I finally broke down and bought this combo set. Home Depot had a great deal for the package and thought I would give it a try. Man was I shocked with the power & torque these drills had...LOVED IT. My younger brother and nephew loved them too. We have helped re-build a 2 story deck, build a 18x28 deck and create a handicap ramp with these 2 drills and they still feel like they are brand new. They have not lost any power or torque.
