I bought it. I'm an Industrial Electrician and we throw about everything at our air compressors from nailers, tackers, staplers, palm grinders, paint sprayers and you name it. So far, it's awesome.
The RIDGID web site specs show 14.5 amps. And the handy-dandy owner manual only references 14.5 amps. I presume it is the load value. I cannot find a running/operating amperage listed anywhere.
The first time I plugged it in, I tripped a breaker and so I plugged it into a dedicated outlet for a refrigerator and ran a 12-3 extension cord and it worked fine.
Breakers usually trip at 75% -80% rated capacity, so it will definitely require a 20 amp circuit for start-up and operation.
