Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1/2" IMPACT I have been in the automotive repair industry for 19 years and in the past 3 have been tempted to get a cordless impact. I had a house fire that destroyed almost all my tools, and for cyber monday, ridgid had a special sale so I ended up getting this impact as part of the deal. while my air impact is rated at double the power of this unit, it has no problem keeping up with my normal everyday work for lug nuts on vehicles up to 2500HD trucks. This tool(for a battery powered tool) is light compared to other cordless in the shop. I would definitely recommend this impact for ease of use and very low price compared to snap-on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rust Buster! I bought this tool to help perform some truck work. Needed to change the lower ball joints, tie rods, and brakes on a mid size Nissan. This tool was worth it's weight in gold. Lug nuts? check, 32mm drive axel nut? check, rusty lower shock bolt? check, lower ball joint pinch bolt? check! The amount of rust on the lower shock mount bolt was enought to stop my braker bar...I impact it back in, add some PB for lube, try again. 20 seconds it blew through the rust and was smoking hot. The lower ball joint bolt was a pinch style bolt that locked the stud into the control arm. The impact took the nut off no problem but the bolt was siezed. After some BFH hits, PB, breaker bar, and this impact it finally let loose. This impact was the prime contributer to lossening this 17MM bolt. Took about 10 minutes total time working it out. I tell you I couldn't have done this job without this imapct. It was priced right at $150 and had a 20-30 ft-lb higher spec than the other brands that cost more! Also, I love that the housing isn't monsterous, or super long. I plan on doing some header flange exhaust bolts next week and this gave me the confidence I needed. Now I'm curious on how the next level up impact will perform. 1400 ft-lbs I think it's rated at. That's insane. This one is 450 ft-lbs and it was just the right balance of torque, size, and weight. Forget the little 3/8ths hex impacts if you plan on hitting up rusty bolts. I don't think 1300 in-lbs are going to cut it. Spend the extra $100 and get the mid-size. You'll have to buy the battery and charger for $100 too. Total is $250.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool. I just bought this tool from Home Depot, I used it to uninstall a seat in my truck and put a new one in, I do like the auto function. So far it is a fine tool, I do think that more led lights would be better. I do like that it has a reinforced battery slide. So far it should work for what I need it for.

HOME DEPOT IS NOW SELLING THIS MODEL# AS OCTANE SO IS THIS MODEL OCTANE CAPABLE???

This same model number is being sold as an Octane version on Home Depot website for $10 more now at $159 and the same as the previous kit with charger/4Ah battery. But people who have purchased it from Home Depot say it's the same as the Gen5X with no indication it's an Octane model?

When will this model be available in Canada?

When will the output torque be upgraded?

I ran milwaukee for years, but all of their tools began failing me. So, I switched over to Ridgid! Man, have I been impressed! The issue is, I am looking to get a battery powered impact, and I really want to buy ridgid, but they dont even come close to the output that milwaukee offers. Does Ridgid plan on fixing this? Why cant ridgid offer a tool with this insane torque?
