Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful vac This vacuum sucks. I mean it really sucks. Very powerful. It has all of the attachments I need. It connects to my DeWalt table saw with the large hose, my DeWalt miter saw with the small hose and my Porter Cable bench top sander with the large hose. No adapters needed. Buy this, you won't regret it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product With Ridgid you can go wrong I just wish it had more power!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Broke after one month I would normally give this product 5 stars but it broke after one month. Motor burned out and was smoking bad. Home Depot exchanged it. If the new one lasts, I will update the review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product had just the attachments I needed. This vacuum works great. The suction great even with all the accessory tubes connected. The fourteen gallon size is still manageable when full to pick up and empty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Wet Vac For The Money ! Got the 14 Gal 6 Horse Wet Vac , when you take it out of the box don t worry if you don t see all the parts such as wheels and such as some of these items are inside the Wet Vac ! Put mine together and wet to vac the car and thought DERN this vac is powerful ! little did I know it was hooked up to the BLOWER ! LoL after hooking it to the proper place this vac DID show itself to have quite a bite of power ! The one I got had the free car vac kit with it a 39.95 value which I ordered on line and had it shipped to Home Depot ! I find myself not really using these extra pieces as of yet because the main hose has proven itself to be just fine! Would I advise others to purchase this product my answer would be yes ! And after the purchase make sure you go to Ridgid.com to fill the warranty papers out to protect your purchase !

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent product, sucks great This is a decent vac for the money however there are a few drawbacks I am not a fan of. 1. where the suction hose connects makes it so that I have to disconnect it every time I want to empty the unit. (on my old one, the hose was in the motor lid, so when you took off the lid to empty it the hose came off in one step too) 2. Attachments have a carrier piece in the back so I store my hard pipes and attachments there and I always forget to take them off before emptying the unit so it bangs up the pipes and puts stress on the casters since the pipes sit on the casters for support. 3. The lip on top of the hopper makes it so that small dust and debris sit there and do not get poured out easily. You have to shake it like crazy to try to get it all out. 4. Could use a larger filter assembly, it looses suction way before its full. When sucking up concrete and I assume drywall debris. My 9 gallon would fill up 2 or 3 times before I had to clean the filter. This one is 1/3 full and won't suck so I have to empty it and then clean the filter. 5. It could use larger caster wheels. they would go through debris and over cords more easily. Pros. 1. It sucks really well when the filter is clean and fresh. 2. It holds a ton of material. 3. Lifetime warranty (love that part)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for everyday Contractor use I'm a general contractor/handyman. I couldn't do my job without a good wet/dry vacuum. I've been using one of these that a co-worker has had for several years, several times a day. Never had a single problem with it. Always gets the job done. So I just purchased one for myself. I'm sure it will last for many years to come, as all of my other ridgid tools have always done.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs many more features Purchased this to be used wet in my detail bay. Not yet completed. The dry portion has plenty of power but I wish you would have options for full power or half power as it is very challenging to pick up on a large rubber mat while using the accessories. The unit becomes very difficult to maneuver on a ergo mat. Way to much suction for a large rubber 4 x 8 ergo mat. On the floor another story. its pretty darn good.We will see in about two weeks once I get a water reclamation mat. Also if you had a telescoping hose that would allow one to go from the present dia to lets say 1" or 1.5 with the proper smaller accessories for cleaning your vehicle.

Answer:
If you can removed the filter it would be better, if you must be aware you will need to purchase a replacement sooner than later. Once the filter gets wet you loose ALOT of suction and cause the motor to run hotter, continued use like this will cause the motor to fail, Just like covering your radiator in your car and going down the highway, it will do it but not for long.

Better to just remove, also gives you a chance to clean it and keep the unit running at its best.

Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

When vacuuming liquids, please take note that when picking up small amounts of liquid the filter may be left in place and when picking up large amounts of liquid we recommend that the filter be removed. If the filter is not removed, it will become saturated and misting may appear in the exhaust.

We hope this meets your needs.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to call us at 1-800-4-RIDGID (1-800-474-3443) or you may send your email to [email protected]

Answer:
Thank you for contacting RIDGID.

Most hoses sold by RIDGID will fit the WD1450. While most of our hoses utilize the locking tab, some do offer friction fit adapters. These adapters use friction to hold the hose in place. For example the VT2570 Pro Hose comes with with friction fit adapters and will work perfect in the WD1450.

The VT2570 can be purchased at many of the fine locations that carry RIDGID Wet/Dry Vacs.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to call us at 1-800-4-RIDGID or you may send your email to [email protected]

Our new porch with insulated floor has water trapped between flooring deck and plastic sheeting over floor joists, and I need to get rid of the water before laying carpet. Since the flooring panels are tongue/groove, it would be extremely difficult to remove, so I am using my shop vac to draw water from a wet seam with the utility nozzle... hopefully, this works. I have run it for 10 minutes without any sign of overheating, but I would like to know how long it can run before needing a rest. Duty cycle isn't specified, but if it is 100%, I expect I can run it hours rather than minutes. An expert opinion from Ridgid would be greatly appreciated.

Answers

Answer:
Hi FoxMan,

We do not have the duty cycle - you have defined as how long it can run before needing a rest published. However, we have received testimonies from customers who have used this vacuum overnight in cleaning up flooded basements without any problems. This involved the cycle of filling up the drum and dumping out the water all through the night.

To prevent the vacuum from overheating, it is strongly recommended that you read and fully understand the safety instructions on the owner’s manual. It is important to NOT leave Vac running while UNATTENDED - you may fail to notice important signs indicating abnormal operation such as loss of suction, debris/liquid exiting exhaust, or abnormal motor noises. Immediately stop using Vac if you notice these signs.

You may also want to use other accessories that can draw water from the wet seam. The narrower the end and the closer you can get to the water, the better. You may also use the blower feature of you WD1450 to help dry the surface.

Hopefully these tips help.

For any further questions or concerns you may call customer service at the number above or you may send your email to [email protected]
