Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best wet/dry vac ever used! We love the Ridgid 4 gallon wet/dry vac. It’s one powerful little sucker, it could suck the spots off a Dalmatian! Great for quick clean up whether it’s dog hair or spilled cereal, super quick & convenient. If they made a better way to store the hose on vacuum it would be perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent Price for solid vac Nice package and good design. I bought it due to owning the much larger one from Rigid and have had that one for years. i expected a little more suction power from Rigid... and Rigid could have made the storage area more functional for adding additional accessories that were not included.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from May have restored my sanity A little while ago, I had a bedbug scare in my room. After doing some research, I decided to put down some diatomaceous earth in my room for some easy, inexpensive protection. For those who don't know, DE is a very fine powdery substance and a desiccant which turns out to be a lethal combination for most household vacuums. I'm a real neat freak, so not being able to safely vacuum in my room was very stressful as I scrambled to sweep and scrub away the excess DE that formed a perpetual layer of stinky dust on my stuff. After getting fed up with this inefficient work, I finally decided to spring for a wet-dry vac that could handle fine dust. I first looked at Shop-Vac stuff since they're the most popular, but honestly their product lineup was too confusing, had a lot of poor reviews and their website doesn't even work right. I eventually decided on this model instead because it's not too bulky and it comes with the fine dust filter I needed, which made for a very attractive price. It's perfect. I've gone over my room with it only once and it didn't seem to spit out any dust, my floor is the cleanest it's been in ages and I can already see a reduction in the dust element in here. Thank you so much Ridgid, I don't normally review things like this but the peace of mind you've given me is well worth the time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would buy again It's pretty powerful for its size. I use it for a homemade dust collection system using 2" pvc pipes. It works great. My only complaint is that it's pretty loud. I put it in another room and drilled a hole in the wall to run the hose through and then used an automatic turn on/off switch for outlet when the tool is being used. It has good power and would buy again. I have only used it a couple of months at the time of this review.

Did I get a dud?

I have had this unit for a very short time with light use......partly because I cant get to suck anything. I purchased to suck up water from when my washer leaked and it picked up nothing.....also when trying to suck up dry materials. it wouldn't even pick up a penny off the floor...Am I doing something wrong? When I remove the hose the suction is very strong...but when the hose is attached the suction is very poor...
Asked by: JenniferCordova
Sounds like you've got something blocking the hose. If you attach the hose and the motor changes to a higher pitched sound you've got a blocked hose.

Seeing as there is no foam filter with this unit, will it damage the vacuum to remove the filter for vacuuming up liquid?

Asked by: Timj
Absolutely! There must be a foam filter on the unit when vacuuming up liquids to prevent debris from getting in to the impeller.

replacement / different filters

it seems like all the filters you sell are for the larger vacs, are there any filters available to purchase for this vacuum if we need to replace the stock one or want a different filter? thanks

How often do I need to change the filter?

I have been cleaning out the ducs in my house and the one I got with the machine today already looks very dirty.
Asked by: bama97202
not sure, I use the bags for dry pick up only and the filter stays clean. You can feel the bag to see if getting full. For filter, suggest once a year if you use it to clean air ducts only...doesn't sound like you use it a lot. filters can last a long time and look like they are very dirty. You can take the filter off and tap it inside a garbage bag and run fingers over the filter to get some dirt, dust cobwebs off.

How do you clean the power head

and after removing the filler I noticed that a good amount of dust collects around the filler . I believe this happens when a bag is not used. In which I plan to do. I'm new to the product this will be my first time using it, being so Ied like to clean it thoroughly, for I'll be using inside my house.
Asked by: Donarp
Unless you are using it as a wet vac make sure to use a clean filter that is properly installed, (it's simple), and if need be wipe down the motor housing with a damp, not wet, cloth with the unit unplugged.
