Rated 5 out of 5 by waxcrazy from Nice vac Just what I was looking for to replace my old one. I use it mostly for auto detailing so the kit was a bonus and works well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SplashAZ from Good vac if you don't have to roll it. This is a good dry/wet vac, but don't expect the casters to hold up under a full tank of water, ours didn't. Two casters broke on ours the first time we used it. Aside from that it has been a good vac. The only other pain is trying to put the filter back on after a wet use. It has no guidance and trying to center it requires watching from a short distance and that contributes to dust and dirt flying in your face. A new filter wouldn't be sensible after each swap of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Redrussell from Best vac I've ever had I've had two Walmart shop vac and kept getting fed up when using them in my building when the lesser Eliot left leaf would clog it up or it didn't have enough power to suck up a screw. But not with this bad boy. I love his vac. It seems t power through must stuff and gets the job don't fast with no aggivation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by greg1vac from This shop vac is one of the most quietest vacs I have ever owned. Has great suction. The vac is designed with a low center of gravity and makes it easy to roll around. As I said this is the quietest vac I have ever owned. Nice on the ears. Came with the right amount of attachments seemed to be a good value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RGV1J from Very Happy with Purchase I purchased this because we had a little emergency and had more water to clean up then what was appropriate for towels to absorb. It did a amazing job. BEST part is it's quiet compared to a Shop Vac. The next day, my car window was smashed out while at the park. I used the vac to extract all of the broken glass and again, it held up to the job. The best part of the vac is it's suction and how quiet it is. I expected it to be ear piercing like a ShpVac, but it's actually pretty good! I'd buy it again and recommend it to anyone who is looking for one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Squeaker from Superior Vac Does The Job! One of the best tools I have purchased in a very long time. Needed a new W/D Vac to sand drywall and this beast gets the job done. Scroll Noise Reduction is fantastic and is many decibels quieter than my 40 year old Craftsman that this one replaced. Highly recommend this Vac if you need a great all around machine for the home or shop!

What are the decibel levels for the WD1450 and the WD1851
uhhh...call me lame, but a "decible meter" is NOT a piece of equip. that anyone I know (including myself) would tend to purchase...so I can't answer this question. IF the owners manuel lists the decible level, I'm not about to go fish for that info. Sorry. That's an unusual question to ask a custormer. Decible level? Really?

can i wet vac with paper filter
It is not recommended. Depending on your use you can remove the pleated paper filter or purchase a sponge type filter that will replace the pleated paper filter.

Will the WD1450 accept standard non locking hoses as well?
I had an extra hose from my last vac and it fit, but I believe I had to use the 3 piece adapter kit.

What is the duty cycle for WD1450?
Our new porch with insulated floor has water trapped between flooring deck and plastic sheeting over floor joists, and I need to get rid of the water before laying carpet. Since the flooring panels are tongue/groove, it would be extremely difficult to remove, so I am using my shop vac to draw water from a wet seam with the utility nozzle... hopefully, this works. I have run it for 10 minutes without any sign of overheating, but I would like to know how long it can run before needing a rest. Duty cycle isn't specified, but if it is 100%, I expect I can run it hours rather than minutes. An expert opinion from Ridgid would be greatly appreciated.
Hi FoxMan, We do not have the duty cycle - you have defined as how long it can run before needing a rest published. However, we have received testimonies from customers who have used this vacuum overnight in cleaning up flooded basements without any problems. This involved the cycle of filling up the drum and dumping out the water all through the night. To prevent the vacuum from overheating, it is strongly recommended that you read and fully understand the safety instructions on the owner’s manual. It is important to NOT leave Vac running while UNATTENDED - you may fail to notice important signs indicating abnormal operation such as loss of suction, debris/liquid exiting exhaust, or abnormal motor noises. Immediately stop using Vac if you notice these signs. You may also want to use other accessories that can draw water from the wet seam. The narrower the end and the closer you can get to the water, the better. You may also use the blower feature of you WD1450 to help dry the surface. Hopefully these tips help. For any further questions or concerns you may call customer service at the number above or you may send your email to [email protected] Regards, RIDGID
