Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wet Dry Vac Great Shop Vac so far. Havent had any issues since I purchased it 4 days ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I selected this particular vac because of its power and noise level rating. I was sceptical about the rating of noise level being in the lowest range for this price and HP, but was not disappointed. It took me 5 minutes from box to use. Easy assembly and very good suction, however reduced when using the bag. Not sure if I am going to keep using that I primarily use it for a garage woodworking shop dust collection system, as well as other things when they come up. Very pleased with this vacuum.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great vacuum I purchased the rigid 14 gal unit to replace a 30 year old craftsman. The Rigid WD14501 was simple to assemble, actually holds the accessories, does not tip over, does not need an extension cord, has incredible suction power, and is unbelievably quiet for a 6.0 motor. For $99.00, this vacuum is a steal! I use the vacuum mostly for wood cutting tools and keeps the dust to a minimum. I did have to make a few adapters rather than purchase but no big deal. I recommend this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent suction and quiet. This was my Valentine's Day gift replacing my 20 year old Ridgid with this bigger model. Our neighbour bought several other brands and had to return them because they did not pick up as well as my Ridgid. My husband decided to clean up my old one which worked perfectly and gave her my old one for a Valenitne's Day gift then gave me the bigger new one. I have never been disappointed with my old Ridgid vacuum and now I have a brand new bigger one. The accessories are great and well built. I use it everywhere including in the garden to pick up leaves around my garden bed, I reverse the hose and use it as a driveway blower, it is perfect to use when woodworking, vehicle cleaning and of course around my fireplace including the yearly fireplace cleanup. It handles anything. I highly recommend this vacuum providing it is the 2 1/2 " hose model. The smaller ones just do not compare to the 2 1/2" model, but are good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ridgid wd1450 Great shopvac, it's my first so don't really have anything to compare it too (beside a regular home vac). Great suction power, not as noisey as I thought it would be. I use it for all home use, general cleaning & renovations.

I just throw in the ear buds, slide the track to the right tune and go to work.. it sucks up everything, making any mess mo' cleana.. Rated 4 out of 5 by from False Start but Good Recovery I bought this vacuum because a similar one I had bought a couple (?) years ago wasn't capable of using the vacuum bag designed to pick up drywall dust and the like and I had an entire basement floor covered in the stuff that I needed to get up. I assembled it, plugged it in, hit the ON switch and nothing! Bummer. Back to the hardware store to return it and get the only other vacuum of the same model and price. I must say, this one made up for the disappointment of the previous one and the first one not capable of doing the same job. It swept the floor perfectly without spewing dust all over the place and without breaking my ear drums. I was pretty impressed with it overall.

What are the decibel levels for the WD1450 and the WD1851

Asked by: mkaibel
uhhh...call me lame, but a "decible meter" is NOT a piece of equip. that anyone I know (including myself) would tend to purchase...so I can't answer this question. IF the owners manuel lists the decible level, I'm not about to go fish for that info. Sorry. That's an unusual question to ask a custormer. Decible level? Really?

can i wet vac with paper filter

Asked by: jerryrusty
It is not recommended. Depending on your use you can remove the pleated paper filter or purchase a sponge type filter that will replace the pleated paper filter.

hoses

Will the WD1450 accept standard non locking hoses as well?
Asked by: dresnik
I had an extra hose from my last vac and it fit, but I believe I had to use the 3 piece adapter kit.

What is the duty cycle for WD1450?

Our new porch with insulated floor has water trapped between flooring deck and plastic sheeting over floor joists, and I need to get rid of the water before laying carpet. Since the flooring panels are tongue/groove, it would be extremely difficult to remove, so I am using my shop vac to draw water from a wet seam with the utility nozzle... hopefully, this works. I have run it for 10 minutes without any sign of overheating, but I would like to know how long it can run before needing a rest. Duty cycle isn't specified, but if it is 100%, I expect I can run it hours rather than minutes. An expert opinion from Ridgid would be greatly appreciated.
Asked by: FoxMan
Hi FoxMan, We do not have the duty cycle - you have defined as how long it can run before needing a rest published. However, we have received testimonies from customers who have used this vacuum overnight in cleaning up flooded basements without any problems. This involved the cycle of filling up the drum and dumping out the water all through the night. To prevent the vacuum from overheating, it is strongly recommended that you read and fully understand the safety instructions on the owner’s manual. It is important to NOT leave Vac running while UNATTENDED - you may fail to notice important signs indicating abnormal operation such as loss of suction, debris/liquid exiting exhaust, or abnormal motor noises. Immediately stop using Vac if you notice these signs. You may also want to use other accessories that can draw water from the wet seam. The narrower the end and the closer you can get to the water, the better. You may also use the blower feature of you WD1450 to help dry the surface. Hopefully these tips help. For any further questions or concerns you may call customer service at the number above or you may send your email to [email protected] Regards, RIDGID
