Rated 4 out of 5 by SoCalGroomerGirl from Works well but… …the hose is too short & stiff to be a well functioning portable vacuum. It's a bummer to have to disconnect the hose after each use just to store it. The hose sticks so far out of the front of the vacuum when it's connected it takes up a lot of room unless the hose is disconnected. The extension wands are so long it makes it hard to maneuver the hose at any angle other than keeping the hose completely straight. I would recommend the vacuum however I definitely think the hose could use some upgrades.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Deenaj1970 from Machine works great I gave this a 3 because the hose is horrible. It kinks constantly at the top where the pipe attaches. The machine seems to have great suction and picks up debris well. I don't recommend buying the bristled floor attachment because it only works with a forward motion. I own a cleaning business and hoped this machine would be a benefit and so far it is, only after I had to purchase the non-kinking hose. I would recommend buying this, just know in advance you'll need to spend another $50.00 for a better hose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by id8designer from Excellent so far. Saw this product used by several car detailers on the internet and the price was right, so I bought it. I have only used it once for detailing my car and it did a great job. I'll have to see how it does on saw dust.

Rated 4 out of 5 by milesonfoot from Great size and shape I really like the size and shape of this unit because it is easier to store. The only thing I find a little odd about it is how hot the motor gets on the top of this, probably due to the way it is designed differently, like a canister. I have checked that the filter is put in place properly. I think it’s just because of the power of these vacuums perhaps the heat from the motor is to be expected. The attachments that come with this model are useful and I especially like that it can be used as a blower because it will come in handy during the fall with leaves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chevelle1888 from Ridgid 4 gallon 5 hp This shop vac is very powerful and has great suction. Only issue I had was when using as a blower the hose came off twice. There are aftermarket hoses you can buy that are better than the stock one. The way it connects to the vac could be better.but it's a great vac and backed by that great warranty.

Seeing as there is no foam filter with this unit, will it damage the vacuum to remove the filter for vacuuming up liquid?
Absolutely! There must be a foam filter on the unit when vacuuming up liquids to prevent debris from getting in to the impeller.

replacement / different filters
it seems like all the filters you sell are for the larger vacs, are there any filters available to purchase for this vacuum if we need to replace the stock one or want a different filter? thanks

How often do I need to change the filter?
I have been cleaning out the ducs in my house and the one I got with the machine today already looks very dirty.
not sure, I use the bags for dry pick up only and the filter stays clean. You can feel the bag to see if getting full. For filter, suggest once a year if you use it to clean air ducts only...doesn't sound like you use it a lot. filters can last a long time and look like they are very dirty. You can take the filter off and tap it inside a garbage bag and run fingers over the filter to get some dirt, dust cobwebs off.

How do you clean the power head
and after removing the filler I noticed that a good amount of dust collects around the filler . I believe this happens when a bag is not used. In which I plan to do. I'm new to the product this will be my first time using it, being so Ied like to clean it thoroughly, for I'll be using inside my house.
Unless you are using it as a wet vac make sure to use a clean filter that is properly installed, (it's simple), and if need be wipe down the motor housing with a damp, not wet, cloth with the unit unplugged.

Did I get a dud?
I have had this unit for a very short time with light use......partly because I cant get to suck anything. I purchased to suck up water from when my washer leaked and it picked up nothing.....also when trying to suck up dry materials. it wouldn't even pick up a penny off the floor...Am I doing something wrong? When I remove the hose the suction is very strong...but when the hose is attached the suction is very poor...
Check your hose for a blockage. I just checked mine and it easily sucks up quarters off the floor.
