Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent vacuum for cleaning vehicles and other small jobs Great little vacuum. Doesn’t need a lot of space to store. Powerful vacuum from something small. Cons- attachment hoses is too short for cleaning vehicle and you have to buy the car kit which has a longer hose and other attachment to help you get the job done. Expensive kit. Not looking forward to buying it. Might as well find a different vacuum that has the longer hose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This little guy sucks Our old shop vac finally died and I was pleasantly surprised how much of an improvement this one was, even with the filter bag installed. We sand a large amount of Bakelite and our old shop vac was not up to the task of collecting all of the fine dust. This little 4 gallon vac was small enough to fit on the bottom shelf of the portable cart we have our stationary sander on. I had been looking at an over-complicated dust collection scheme, but with the price and ease of use, this vacuum was clearly the way to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mini Monster & Great deal I bought this vacuum cleaner from The Home Depot and it's an extremely great item from Ridgid. I'm very happy about that and I recommend anybody to grab one of those to clean shop and car

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid features and performance in a handy size. I pulled the vacuum from its box, wound out the cord and plugged it in, hooked up the included hose and started sucking up construction debris all within 30 seconds. The suction is plentiful and the unit is easily wheeled — or carried — around. It's light weight but fully able to handle the dirt, drywall, busted concrete, carpet fuzz, and wood chips that littered the bedroom floor and patio. My wife asked if she could use it as a blower, so I connected the hose to the exhaust port and she whizzed all around the patio banishing dirt and gravel and dog hair and dead leaves. The only hiccup was, towing the unit from the exhaust port, instead of the input port, doesn't allow the castering wheels to function properly and the unit, thus, pulls a bit awkwardly from a corner, which causes the large wheels to be dragged rather than rolling. No biggie, but the hose kept popping off the port, despite the included latching features. (She added some tape to keep the unit and the hose together.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I just used it twice , so far so good except the hose Im love ridgid vacuums and this is my third one for when o do small drywall jobs in houses while ppl are in. So far so good except the hose. All the hoses are hard to move and not flexible at all i wish ridgid will start making better flexible durable hoses. All ridgid hoses bend and dont flex which decreases the beauty of those excellent vacuums.

Did I get a dud?

I have had this unit for a very short time with light use......partly because I cant get to suck anything. I purchased to suck up water from when my washer leaked and it picked up nothing.....also when trying to suck up dry materials. it wouldn't even pick up a penny off the floor...Am I doing something wrong? When I remove the hose the suction is very strong...but when the hose is attached the suction is very poor...
Asked by: JenniferCordova
Sounds like you've got something blocking the hose. If you attach the hose and the motor changes to a higher pitched sound you've got a blocked hose.

Seeing as there is no foam filter with this unit, will it damage the vacuum to remove the filter for vacuuming up liquid?

Asked by: Timj
Absolutely! There must be a foam filter on the unit when vacuuming up liquids to prevent debris from getting in to the impeller.

replacement / different filters

it seems like all the filters you sell are for the larger vacs, are there any filters available to purchase for this vacuum if we need to replace the stock one or want a different filter? thanks

How often do I need to change the filter?

I have been cleaning out the ducs in my house and the one I got with the machine today already looks very dirty.
Asked by: bama97202
not sure, I use the bags for dry pick up only and the filter stays clean. You can feel the bag to see if getting full. For filter, suggest once a year if you use it to clean air ducts only...doesn't sound like you use it a lot. filters can last a long time and look like they are very dirty. You can take the filter off and tap it inside a garbage bag and run fingers over the filter to get some dirt, dust cobwebs off.

How do you clean the power head

and after removing the filler I noticed that a good amount of dust collects around the filler . I believe this happens when a bag is not used. In which I plan to do. I'm new to the product this will be my first time using it, being so Ied like to clean it thoroughly, for I'll be using inside my house.
Asked by: Donarp
Unless you are using it as a wet vac make sure to use a clean filter that is properly installed, (it's simple), and if need be wipe down the motor housing with a damp, not wet, cloth with the unit unplugged.
