Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small and powerful The vacuum has lots of suction, and is smaller and easier to move around. The hose is more flexible than the bigger hoses found on larger size vacuums. I purchased this rather than any of the competitors because of the life-time warranty

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what I'm used to After decades of using that other major brand, I decided to try this Rigid, primarily because of the lifetime warranty. I like the units portability and the footprint, which is smaller than those other ones I've always used. The hose is a much larger diameter, and longer, and the 20 foot power cord is great. The tool "housing" is just a cavity that has no dividers, or anything to keep those attachments and hoses in place, so the tools just lay there or flop-out and toss around while using it....usually they just flip out of the cavity. The hose extensions don't stand up erect....they just fall over and become a trip-nightmare. I miss that organized portion from the other brand quite a bit. The bags you can buy are not cheap, but I found a pack of 10 from Walmart for $20, so that's where I'll be getting them. The wide attachment for the hose has an odd angle to it, which requires holding the hose and tool up higher than what I'm used to....and when trying to get under things the suck-power is reduced so much it takes multiple sweeps to pick anything up - that is a problem. I hate to say it, but I'm buying another one of that other brand to use where this one fails. Too bad the best of both worlds can't be found in just one vac.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The 4 gallon is ideal for home and work bench It is easy to handle and the shape means it follows behind me like a well behaved dog on a lease. I like the storage area that holds the attachments and the shape provides for a convenient way to fold the power cord.

Did I get a dud?

I have had this unit for a very short time with light use......partly because I cant get to suck anything. I purchased to suck up water from when my washer leaked and it picked up nothing.....also when trying to suck up dry materials. it wouldn't even pick up a penny off the floor...Am I doing something wrong? When I remove the hose the suction is very strong...but when the hose is attached the suction is very poor...
Asked by: JenniferCordova
Sounds like you've got something blocking the hose. If you attach the hose and the motor changes to a higher pitched sound you've got a blocked hose.

Seeing as there is no foam filter with this unit, will it damage the vacuum to remove the filter for vacuuming up liquid?

Asked by: Timj
Absolutely! There must be a foam filter on the unit when vacuuming up liquids to prevent debris from getting in to the impeller.

replacement / different filters

it seems like all the filters you sell are for the larger vacs, are there any filters available to purchase for this vacuum if we need to replace the stock one or want a different filter? thanks

How often do I need to change the filter?

I have been cleaning out the ducs in my house and the one I got with the machine today already looks very dirty.
Asked by: bama97202
not sure, I use the bags for dry pick up only and the filter stays clean. You can feel the bag to see if getting full. For filter, suggest once a year if you use it to clean air ducts only...doesn't sound like you use it a lot. filters can last a long time and look like they are very dirty. You can take the filter off and tap it inside a garbage bag and run fingers over the filter to get some dirt, dust cobwebs off.

How do you clean the power head

and after removing the filler I noticed that a good amount of dust collects around the filler . I believe this happens when a bag is not used. In which I plan to do. I'm new to the product this will be my first time using it, being so Ied like to clean it thoroughly, for I'll be using inside my house.
Asked by: Donarp
Unless you are using it as a wet vac make sure to use a clean filter that is properly installed, (it's simple), and if need be wipe down the motor housing with a damp, not wet, cloth with the unit unplugged.
