Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 342 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Powerful vacuum I'm upgrading from a Shop-Vac of a similar size that is just worn out. The new hose is a larger diameter but Ridgid sells an adapter so I can use the old attachments. The hose is somewhat short and stiff but it breaks down easily and is solidly built. It's got the most powerful suction I've seen in a vacuum this size. May 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product small size Strong suction. Can even pick up nails. Removed drywall from bathroom and was large enough for the complete cleanup. Lightweight and easy to move around. May 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by I was very impressed with the design quality and functionality of the product. I just recently purchased this product, so am still evaluating it. But I have had Ridgid products before and this wet vac continues to show the good quality I have seen in my previous Ridgid purchases. This product seems very well designed and is working out even better than I expected. My old (small) Ridgid shop vac is still in use after many years, and has been moved on to lighter duties. The new one is so far exceeding my expectations in usability and performance. May 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lifetime warranty... I own a mobile detail and this machine is great...i mean really great...perfect size..and great power..a++++++ May 11, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product Great purchase and easy to use. Wish it came with a wider vacuum nozzle to pick up a wider floor surface. May 3, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great small vacuum but base cracks over time I have had this vacuum for around 4 years. It is light and easy to move around. Pulls on cement or hardwood floors very easy. When using for wet it holds an ok amount of water but when to full it will start to blow out the exhaust opening. Just recently I used it for wet water pick up but noticed poodles forming under it when it wasn't even full. The place where the castors pop into the lower housing cracked and because it is all one plastic piece the cracks spread out. I glued them shut so it is good for vacuuming but not for quick water pick up anymore. May 2, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by service My 1st vac quit working. I called your service center and they guided me thru a quick and painless process to get my vac tested and replaced in short order. Thank you very much. May 1, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Compact and very powerful! I bought this vac to replace and old craftsman 2 gallon vac and am very pleased with it. It has exceptional power for its size and I like the fact that it's very portable. Not sure on its durability, but so far so good. April 26, 2016

Answer:
Absolutely! There must be a foam filter on the unit when vacuuming up liquids to prevent debris from getting in to the impeller.

Answer:
Here are some notes from the manual:
Vacuuming Liquids:
1. When picking up small amounts of liquid the filter may be left in place,
2. When picking up large amounts of liquid we recommend that the filter be removed. If the filter is not removed it will become saturated and misting may appear in the exhaust.
Warning: do not remove the filter cage and float. The float prevents liquid from entering the impeller and damaging the motor. The cage prevents fingers from touching the impeller.
3. When the liquid in the drum reaches a predetermined level, the float mechanism will rise automatically to cut off airflow. You will know that the float has risen because vac airflow ceases and the motor noise will become higher in pitch, due to increased motor speed. When this happens, turn off the vac unplug the power cord, and empty the drum.
4. After using the vac to pick up liquids, the filter must be dried to avoid possible mildew and damage to the filter.

Thank you

The filter and the way it mounts on to the vacuum is exactly the same as many other brands. So though I have not done so myself. I am pretty sure there is a foam filter out there under another brand that will fit.

Answer:
Unless you are using it as a wet vac make sure to use a clean filter that is properly installed, (it's simple), and if need be wipe down the motor housing with a damp, not wet, cloth with the unit unplugged.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

It is encourage using a wet rug and wiping the dust accumulated on the vacuum’s power head rather than washing it directly with water as the water might enter to the motor which will be a safety issue.

Answer:
Yes, I located one at Home Depot; although the one I found that would fit a 1=7/8 inch hose was available only with a 'crevice nozzle' attachment as well. It seems the price for the two attachments was about $14.00 and some change.
