Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointment I've always used Shop Vac , when my last one died, I decided to try Rigid... Big mistake. I purchased it in April of 2015 and it stopped working December of 2015. With light use. I do not recommend . With the cost of these vacuums, you would think they would last longer. The on/off switch I think is the cause.. But the store I bought the vac from doesn't carry replacement parts... I'm just disappointed September 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Plenty of power Ridgid makes the best wet/dry vac I used to have to buy a new one every year till I switched to Ridgid 12 years ago now this is my 2nd one in 12 years and the 1st took a 12 year beating and still never died ... September 18, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great in a crisis I purchased this last year when the rains were so heavy, it was flooding my garage. This apparatus worked so well to keep up with the water coming over the sandbags. Very easy to use and great suction. I am excited about discovering new uses for it around the house. August 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by works well Wet/dry vacuum works well. However I had to return to the store to purchase a separate filter for wet application. After use, it is impossible to remove filter used for wet application. It was difficult to install to begin with, but can not remove once used. August 15, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by This product cleans everything perfectly! This product is great. It's suction is fantastic. We have a van that was in dire need of cleaning due to neglect & a lot dog hair. We wanted to sell it. After about 45 minutes of using the Ridgid vacuum the van looked like it had just come from the dealer. Great product! July 1, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product works Great So Far the Wet/Dry Vac is everything that we hoped it to be, we've only used it 3 times so far, so at this time we think the Vac is excellent. July 1, 2016

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

If you are picking up clean water, the pleated paper filter should be removed.

When picking up small amounts of liquid the paper filter may be left in place. Please note that when the filter becomes saturated, misting may occur at the blower port. To further protect the motor of the vac, there is a wet filter (VF7000 part number) available. This filter can only be used for 5 gallon and larger vacs. The VF7000 filter is available at any local Home Depot store or it can be purchase through our Customer Service organization over the phone 1-800-4-RIDGID (1-800-474-3443) or on-line at www.ridgidparts.com.

Additionally, when picking up large volume of liquids, the liquid in the drum may reach a predetermined level and the float mechanism will rise automatically to cut off airflow. This occurs to avoid liquids from entering the power head. When this happens, turn off the vac, unplug the power cord, and empty the drum. For this reason, it is important NOT to leave the vac running unattended during operation.

Before storage, the filter must be dried to avoid possible mildew and damage to the filter. We recommend that you clean or wash the filter then let it air dry overnight. Please check the filter for holes or tears after each cleaning. The filter might need to be replaced if it has any damage.

Regards,
RIDGID

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

The gap between the lid (top) and the drum (bottom) will create a tight vacuum seal during operation. We do not have a rubber gasket available but you can use a weather stripping if you like a tight fit during non-operation.

In the previous question about bags for this model, the answer give was to use the VF3502 filter bags. However, the instructions for installing the bag on the 2 rib inlet tube don't match the anatomy of the WD1270, which has an inlet tube that is molded into the body at the bottom so the cardboard collar cannot be attached.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

We would like you to know that there is no way to stop the air coming out from the exhaust port. The RIDGID® vacuum and blower ports would be functioning at the same time. You just need to attach the hose to whichever port is applicable to the job. Air will be drawn into the vacuum through the suction port and exit through the blower port. The debris that has been picked up by the vacuum should be captured by the filter. With the correct filter properly installed, only clean air would be exiting the exhaust. Installing an air diffuser (part number VT2525) would help diffuse the strength of the air and reduce the noise from the vacuum.

We hope this meets your needs. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to call us at 1-800-4-RIDGID (1-800-474-3443) or you may send your email to [email protected]

Answer:
This vacuum does not have a switch from one function to the other. Both functions are working simultaneously when you power on the vacuum. You switch from blower to vacuum by disconnecting the hose from the back exhaust port and hooking it back up to the front intake port. Its has simple as that.
