Model WD1450

This RIDGID® 14 gallon High Performance Wet/Dry Vac is designed to deliver the powerful suction, large capacity, and rugged construction in a more compact design than is offered in our largest cart type vacs. The vacuum’s 14 gallon drum size helps us achieve a more compact overall design but it still provides a big capacity capable of handling large job-site chores. The 6.0 peak HP motor delivers the high performance necessary to handle these chores. Other key features include; a 3-layer fine dust filter captures dry wall dust, accessories are stored on-board, casters provide 360° mobility. Add a top handle with a cord wrap, heavy duty 2-piece drum construction, a large drain and you’ve got a wet/dry vac that achieves the demands of Pro’s on the job site or in the shop.

Features

  • 6.0 Peak HP Motor provides powerful suction to handle tough jobsite clean-up
  • Scroll Noise Reduction® is a patented feature that provides quiet operation by precisely controlling the flow of air through the vac
  • 4 Swivel Casters provide easy 360° mobility
  • Quick Release on-board accessory holder offers storage space for 5 accessories plus the hose
  • 2-Piece Drum provides improved, more rugged construction to meet the higher demands found on the job site
  • 3-layer Fine Dust Filter captures fine dust particles such as dry wall dust
  • 7' Dual-Flex® Locking Hose resists collapsing and adds 180˚ flexibility at both hose ends. Hose locks onto vac for uninterrupted cleaning
  • Large Carry Handle allows easy lifting of vac into service vehicle
  • Long 20’ Cord wraps neatly around carry handle
  • Powerful exhaust airstream can be directed through the vac hose to blow debris from garages, decks, and sidewalks

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 430 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product! We needed a upgrade for our old vac. Absolutely love the power and ease of use of this product. The attachments are a added plus. Minimal assembly was required and was simple. Highly recommend!! May 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Dust Collector I purchased this unit to connect to my dust cyclone. I already have 4 other shop vacs in my garage, but the highest HP was 3.5. This vac has 6.0 HP, so I'm hoping it works well when drawing dust from my table saw, miter saw and router. This vac was $99 at the orange box store. I went to the store to purchase this item but it took me a while to decide once I got to the aisle. HD also had a model one level up that boast an additional 0.5 HP and a top that can separate from the unit and be used as a hand held unit. Since I'm connecting this to a cyclone, the hand held unit would not be useful to me. The additional 0.5 HP however is what kept me standing in aisle for longer than I intended. The suction on the higher model, by their rating, was a 10 out of 10. The suction on this model was 8 out of 10. For my purpose, the extra suction would be great. In the end, the difference maker was something Ridgid calls SNR (Scroll Noise Reduction). The higher model that was on sale for exactly the SAME price of $99 was rated at a noise level of 8 if I remember correctly. This unit was rated at 4 and had this SNR. Does that mean it's half the amount of noise...I'm not really sure, but that was what confirmed my decision to stick with the model I went in the store to purchase. As far as durability goes, it's a rigid and you gotta love their unbeatable warranty. I'll take a chance with their products any day. 3 of my 5 shop vacs are Rigids. Also, the on/off button on this unit is amazingly HUGE. It's so easy to find and turn on and off. I would buy this unit again, but with Ridgid's warranty, I guess I won't have too. May 18, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Plenty of Power!!! This thing sucks...I mean that in a good way as in "great suction". Love the on board attachment holder so everything is readily available. Great product and very satisfied that I ordered one of this caliber. Just don't let it get too close to something you do not want to vacuum up or you will be fishing it out of the dust bag!!! May 18, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Could use reducer to go from. 21/2 on unit to 17/8 hose which is more manageable for car detailing. Had a rigid vacuum before this one a smaller unit worked great for ten years with almost daily use could not find unit so bought 1450 hope it gives just as great service as previous model. One thing I do miss on new model no place to rest end of hose when not in use. May 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality Product Un-boxed vac and immediately noticed the quality of the unit. Used it to vac up old dust and debries laden desktop and it did a wonderfiul job. Can't wait to try it on a liquid clean!!! May 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Does the job...very well Great value! The two extra bags and the car attachment was the "frosting on the cake" May 15, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Hose could be more sturdy Great product so far. Only wish that the standard hose was more flexible and durable. I received the orange hose with the car detailing kit, which seems and feels more durable than the original black hose. In addition to that, the collection bags are quite pricey and there's no promotion for new buyers. Please consider adding that! May 15, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Needs a converter Collects dust well, but needs an adapter for every tool I have. My old vacuum was a standard size and would fit easily into/on all my tools. This RIDGID needs an adaptor... I'll have to go buy something else to get full functionality. Moral: check your attachments sizes and compare to RIDGID's to see if they are compatible. May 8, 2016

Answer:
If you can removed the filter it would be better, if you must be aware you will need to purchase a replacement sooner than later. Once the filter gets wet you loose ALOT of suction and cause the motor to run hotter, continued use like this will cause the motor to fail, Just like covering your radiator in your car and going down the highway, it will do it but not for long.

Better to just remove, also gives you a chance to clean it and keep the unit running at its best.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

When vacuuming liquids, please take note that when picking up small amounts of liquid the filter may be left in place and when picking up large amounts of liquid we recommend that the filter be removed. If the filter is not removed, it will become saturated and misting may appear in the exhaust.

We hope this meets your needs.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to call us at 1-800-4-RIDGID (1-800-474-3443) or you may send your email to [email protected]

Answer:
Thank you for contacting RIDGID.

Most hoses sold by RIDGID will fit the WD1450. While most of our hoses utilize the locking tab, some do offer friction fit adapters. These adapters use friction to hold the hose in place. For example the VT2570 Pro Hose comes with with friction fit adapters and will work perfect in the WD1450.

The VT2570 can be purchased at many of the fine locations that carry RIDGID Wet/Dry Vacs.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to call us at 1-800-4-RIDGID or you may send your email to [email protected]
