Model WD1450

This RIDGID® 14 gallon High Performance Wet/Dry Vac is designed to deliver the powerful suction, large capacity, and rugged construction in a more compact design than is offered in our largest cart type vacs. The vacuum’s 14 gallon drum size helps us achieve a more compact overall design but it still provides a big capacity capable of handling large job-site chores. The 6.0 peak HP motor delivers the high performance necessary to handle these chores. Other key features include; a 3-layer fine dust filter captures dry wall dust, accessories are stored on-board, casters provide 360° mobility. Add a top handle with a cord wrap, heavy duty 2-piece drum construction, a large drain and you’ve got a wet/dry vac that achieves the demands of Pro’s on the job site or in the shop.

Features

  • 6.0 Peak HP Motor provides powerful suction to handle tough jobsite clean-up
  • Scroll Noise Reduction® is a patented feature that provides quiet operation by precisely controlling the flow of air through the vac
  • 4 Swivel Casters provide easy 360° mobility
  • Quick Release on-board accessory holder offers storage space for 5 accessories plus the hose
  • 2-Piece Drum provides improved, more rugged construction to meet the higher demands found on the job site
  • 3-layer Fine Dust Filter captures fine dust particles such as dry wall dust
  • 7' Dual-Flex® Locking Hose resists collapsing and adds 180˚ flexibility at both hose ends. Hose locks onto vac for uninterrupted cleaning
  • Large Carry Handle allows easy lifting of vac into service vehicle
  • Long 20’ Cord wraps neatly around carry handle
  • Powerful exhaust airstream can be directed through the vac hose to blow debris from garages, decks, and sidewalks

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 252 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by More than I needed but glad I did I purchased the 14 gal to replace an old cheaper 5 gal vac. I am impressed with the quality, value and performance. I didn't think I needed this big of a vac but the second day found me using it to pick up lathe cut-offs from the deck I was building. The large hose and suction made clean up easier than being on my hands and knees. I also felt better knowing the little staples were less likely to puncture a tire because the vac picked them up. Like the handy tool rack for the attachments. Like the filter and drain port. July 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Suction Haven't used this vac on water yet but if it does as well with water as it does with dry this will be a great vac. This vac suck up pretty much everything. July 30, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Burns out after 6 months I've replaced 3 of these in 2 years. Be sure you register it for the warranty because it won't last. I've only used the dry bag inserts in the vac and they just stop working. July 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fast, easy set up. Unit was ready right out of the box. Just had to plug in. Great suction, especially great for us first time remodelers. July 28, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very good wet/dry vac and surprisingly quite This wet/dry vac is probably one of the best on the market. The suction power is great and can even be used as a debris b lower to clear a driveway! The noise level is actually much quieter than other models. This unit is even quieter than my 2 gallon unit from another manufacturer! July 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by vac works great! This vac is very quite, it's easy to use and works great. July 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Much better than other brands I really like this shop vac. My previous shop vac had a 1-1/4" hose diameter. It got clogged frequently. This 2-1/5" hose has never gotten clogged and it has a lot more suction than the other shop vac. Overall, I would buy this product again should the need arise. The only thing that I would complain about is that there is no crevice tool or round dusting brush included. That cost me another $18. Other than that, I highly recommend this shop vac. July 17, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Suction adapters could be more ergonomic. Overall good. Rigid is a strong name to hold up to. Suction is okay considering the horse power. Accessory mount leaves something to be desired. A cord wrap would be nice to have. Keep plugging away. In conclusion, nicknames already used c'mon. July 12, 2015

Answer:
Don't have a DB meter handy but it is a shop vac, it will be hard to hear if you are in a small room. This unit is MUCH quieter than the unit it replaced. It is better than older units.

Answer:
uhhh...call me lame, but a "decible meter" is NOT a piece of equip. that anyone I know (including myself) would tend to purchase...so I can't answer this question. IF the owners manuel lists the decible level, I'm not about to go fish for that info. Sorry. That's an unusual question to ask a custormer. Decible level? Really?

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

When vacuuming liquids, please take note that when picking up small amounts of liquid the filter may be left in place and when picking up large amounts of liquid we recommend that the filter be removed. If the filter is not removed, it will become saturated and misting may appear in the exhaust.

We hope this meets your needs.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to call us at 1-800-4-RIDGID (1-800-474-3443) or you may send your email to [email protected]

Answer:
If you can removed the filter it would be better, if you must be aware you will need to purchase a replacement sooner than later. Once the filter gets wet you loose ALOT of suction and cause the motor to run hotter, continued use like this will cause the motor to fail, Just like covering your radiator in your car and going down the highway, it will do it but not for long.

Better to just remove, also gives you a chance to clean it and keep the unit running at its best.
