How to tighten Rigid 400 series tube bender?

looks like very small torx type screw but not sure.

“Tightening up the bender can mean several different things. It could be as simple as tightening reference number 7, however the tool could be loose in a few other places that I have indicated with the red circles. • If the latch is loose it could be reference number 7 again or the wave washer (# 5 is worn or missing). • It could be the bending shoe which would mean the roll pin (# 2) or the hole on the entire handle is worn or defective. • The bending form on the upper handle assembly could be loose, in which case again the tool is either worn or defective tightening would not be possible. • The link that connects the bending handle to the form could be loose, in which case the same thoughts I stated above would apply. Would I be able to bend 3/16 copper tubing into a stacked coil? and whats the smallest diameter I could make that coil? My application is to water cool a short section of 1/4 inch o.d. tubing. I have fin plates to place between the coils about 1 mm thick. I need to fabricate a coil to water cool these fins. TIA -Wayne

It might be tricky but I believe this could be done. You would need to bend it in 180 degree increments which is the maximum bend the tool can perform. Also you would need to change the angle of the leg being bent to change the plane so that the helix of the coil can be maintained. This in turn would create a coil that has a great deal of space between the coils and it would most likely have to be compressed after fabrication to the desired spacing. Finally the bender would only be capable of creating at a minimum a 1-1/4” diameter coil as the bend radius of the tool is 5/8”. If there are more questions on this please feel free to contact us.
