Rated 4 out of 5 by from RIDGID 4 Gal good suction. Clumsy to carry. Hose difficult to attach. Need some type of handle to pull instead of carrying to work place.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The unit works well. This unit was purchased to replace a much larger device which was not easily moved around. It is mainly used to vacuum the two cars, and for that it works very well. Plus it is small enough to be portable, but also has strong suction. Since I have only had the vac for a few weeks I can not comment on the durability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It has all the power it needs to do a good JOB The only thing missing is an accessory with a brush end, which I feel should come with the unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great vacuum Used this vacuum to clean my vehicle that was in much need of a clean. Sucked everything up with no problem. It even sucked up all the long dog fur that was stuck in the carpet; just took a little patience to work the fur out. Overall this vacuum has great power for a compact shop vac, plus the storage is a great feature too. All the accessories pack away nicely with the vacuum for tidy storage.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Has good power. Its lightweight. Nice size The little vacuum has good power and it made clean up easy. I have only used the blower for sawdust. It would get 5 stars but for the hose attachment keeps coming off repeatedly while blowing. It has a cheap plastic hook to attach at the hole and it just won't stay on. i will likely have to duct tape it to stay. So it made working with it harder because i had to bend down often to put the hose back on. Seems to be a design flaw. But you almost had it right, because I like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little tool We were in the market for a small wet/dry vac to replace one lost to the flooding after Hurricane Harvey. We were looking at larger units, when this one caught our eye. It's an amazing little tool. It has more power than the units twice its size, and it's really easy to work with. Plus it takes up less space than the larger units. I'm assuming the durability will be as one would expect from Ridgid. I'll update the review if it turns out otherwise. The only reason for the ding on Ease of Use is that winding the cord is a real pain. No more than any of the other units, understand, but an auto, spring-loaded cord rewind would be a great addition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome product! Love the Life-Time-Warranty and it was cheaper than the other name brands that have a one year warranty

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap hoses I switched from a shop vac. The rigid has great power and I like the ease of the handle. The hose itself is garbage, bending and kinking easily, with the securement tabs difficult to connect and coming apart easily. I will try it a bit more, but might return and go back to shop vac.

Did I get a dud?

I have had this unit for a very short time with light use......partly because I cant get to suck anything. I purchased to suck up water from when my washer leaked and it picked up nothing.....also when trying to suck up dry materials. it wouldn't even pick up a penny off the floor...Am I doing something wrong? When I remove the hose the suction is very strong...but when the hose is attached the suction is very poor...
Asked by: JenniferCordova
Sounds like you've got something blocking the hose. If you attach the hose and the motor changes to a higher pitched sound you've got a blocked hose.

Seeing as there is no foam filter with this unit, will it damage the vacuum to remove the filter for vacuuming up liquid?

Asked by: Timj
Absolutely! There must be a foam filter on the unit when vacuuming up liquids to prevent debris from getting in to the impeller.

replacement / different filters

it seems like all the filters you sell are for the larger vacs, are there any filters available to purchase for this vacuum if we need to replace the stock one or want a different filter? thanks

How often do I need to change the filter?

I have been cleaning out the ducs in my house and the one I got with the machine today already looks very dirty.
Asked by: bama97202
not sure, I use the bags for dry pick up only and the filter stays clean. You can feel the bag to see if getting full. For filter, suggest once a year if you use it to clean air ducts only...doesn't sound like you use it a lot. filters can last a long time and look like they are very dirty. You can take the filter off and tap it inside a garbage bag and run fingers over the filter to get some dirt, dust cobwebs off.

How do you clean the power head

and after removing the filler I noticed that a good amount of dust collects around the filler . I believe this happens when a bag is not used. In which I plan to do. I'm new to the product this will be my first time using it, being so Ied like to clean it thoroughly, for I'll be using inside my house.
Asked by: Donarp
Unless you are using it as a wet vac make sure to use a clean filter that is properly installed, (it's simple), and if need be wipe down the motor housing with a damp, not wet, cloth with the unit unplugged.
