Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Vacuum Sucks! This Vacuum sucks. I mean it really sucks, way better than any other vacuum that I have had in the past. And that is what it is really all about! Also, the attachments are very handy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shop vac at a good value I have had this vacuum for a few years now and it has never let me down. Consistent, strong suction in either wet or dry conditions. Useful accessories and a ready supply of replacement parts when needed. My one complaint is that the casters do not spin freely in their base mounts, making it difficult to drag the vac around and have it go in the desired direction. As the casters turn, they hit the plastic mounting bases, often locking the wheels perpendicular to the desired direction of travel. If the casters projected down further past the bottom edge of the caster bases, this would not happen and it seems odd that the design team would not have caught this. Again, my unit is a few years old, so maybe someone corrected this in later models. If there is a retrofit kit or a way to fix this, I would give 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality Purchased a Vac from Lowes and it didn't last 1 year. I didn't even use it 10 times. I have had two Ridgid's and they have both lasted over 10 years and I abused them the entire time. I do appliance repair and suck water out of dishwashers and washer with the vac. I pour the water out and seal it up with the dampness and it keeps on working day after day. Great Vacuum.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Vacuum worked well but didn't last very long. Warranty refused. I had a Rigid shop vac fail after a few years. Discovered it was a wire on the motor that became disconnected. Submitted a claim since it advertises lifetime warranty but it was rejected because the picture I sent showed some debris around the blower. They said this was as a result of misuse of the product, which I disagree with. The blower still moved freely and don't see how that resulted in the wire on the motor to become detached.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work after 10 uses. I used the Shop-Vac about 10 times ,the power started flickering on and off on the motor now it doesn't run at all I contacted ridgid they had me send photos to them and they said they're not going to replace the unit. Waste of money.!!! $100.00 in the trash. I wont buy your pipe wrenches or any other Ridgid tool again

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First Use Response Assembly instructions were very clear. However, when I began to assemble the hose clamps, the 2 plastic parts that hold the hose to the unit, it required 4 screws to do the job. The parts list only had enough screws for the wheels and the top handle (total of 6). It needed to show 10, and have 10 in the parts packaging. The unit functions extremely well in a vacuuming manner. I have not tried the blowing function yet. It would be nice if the box were a bit bigger to be able to house the once-assembled unit. After adding the wheels and utilities, the box is now too small to be a storage unit.

can i wet vac with paper filter

Asked by: jerryrusty
It is not recommended. Depending on your use you can remove the pleated paper filter or purchase a sponge type filter that will replace the pleated paper filter.

I just bought one of these and the directions say the casters will 'snap' into place, but they do not. They just fall out. Is this right?

Asked by: bkay
No, the casters should not fall out. You may not be applying enough force to get them to snap into place. I had to press pretty firmly with my hand to get them to lock in but once they did, all is well. I do not recommend using a hammer or other tool. That could damage the casters. Do it by hand only and find a helper if need be.

hoses

Will the WD1450 accept standard non locking hoses as well?
Asked by: dresnik
I had an extra hose from my last vac and it fit, but I believe I had to use the 3 piece adapter kit.
