The B-500 is a portable bevelling machine that is compact and light. It can be brought to the metal without much physical effort and can be used in areas with limited space. It is primarily used for bevelling most steel pipe ends and plate edges on material up to 0.5” (13mm) thick in preparation for welding. Its conical cutter heads with replaceable cutter inserts are driven by a motor or gearbox to produce bevels in 30°, 37.5°, or 45°.

It is commended for producing high quality and consistent bevels without flames or sparks. There is no coolant or cutting oils needed as well. Moreover, this beveller securely grips the work piece between guide rolls and a drive roll and has a detachable hand crank used to manually move the cutter head through the material being bevelled. It also does not add any contamination to the metal in contrast with the other procedures like cutting torch, flap disc or grinding disc.

It can be used in two configurations, either with the work piece fixed and the beveller moving along it (Fixed Workpiece/Moving Beveller) or with the beveller fixed on the Model TBM-36 Beveller Adapter, and the pipe moving relative to the beveller (Fixed Beveller/Rotating Pipe). Due to differing material characteristics, a test bevel is recommended to be performed before the first attempt to bevel or whenever you decide to change the material type, material thickness, bevel angle or land width.
