Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great suction in small package Due to limited space in my garage, I picked this vac out at HomeDepot. I was not disappointed. I got all the suction of a large vacuum, in a small, easy to store package. For most of my jobs, this has all the capacity I need. unable to comment on durability but with the lifetime warranty,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best for the money I have had 2 of them for a while, used on all kind of things. Sucking muddy water to cleaning machine shop debris. Still working fine. Retired one to only machine duty. Sucks up metal particles full of synthetic coolant and water. Still working, probably over 6 years now.Just bought new one to keep a small sandblaster evacuated. The previous other brand petered out after about 6 months. Got sand in the switch and could not turn it off. The Ridgid is working great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4 Gallon Rigid Wet Dry Vac So far I am very pleased with this vacuum. It has good suction, a nice long cord, and trails behind me easily while I clean. We have other Rigid vacs at work that have proved themselves well, hopefully this one is just as good :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compact size, easy to assemble.Good value. I discovered too late that the owners manual was enclosed inside the body of the vac. Since I could not find it in the box, I assemble the unit and used it right away..(my water heater was leaking). When I has to empty the unit, I discovered the instruction manual and one tool attachment inside. I advised you to place a decal on the unit to indicated that there is something inside the vac before it's used. Otherwise, I like the ease of use and of assembly and the compactness and portability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Vac! I’m a general contractor. Several of my subs have been using this Ridgid Vac for several years now. They all swear by it. I have been using shop vac for years. And have always hated how when you pull on the hoes they turn over. So I got Ridgid. It’s great I love the power and size. I did not give a rating on the durability since I’ve only had it a few weeks. My only small complaint would be that the hose is very stiff. Think it’s a great vac and would recommend it to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product I bought 1 of these for work before I retired and it work great compact ease of use with everything you need carried with it. Just bought a new home with all hard wood floors and the need for use in workshop, this model fit the bill, it’s a little different from regular vacuums but it does a Great job for both locations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Much more durable product than competitors’ products Wet/dry vacuum is powerful and, unlike one competitor’s unit which I owned, is very stable due to large rear wheels; perfect for uneven floor surfaces or inevitable snags against walls, furniture, etc. I have not used for general construction debris but am confident it will work as well as the large Ridgid unit I own. The only drawback relates to expense of additional tools not provided in the basic package. Hence, the 4 out of 5 rating.

Did I get a dud?

I have had this unit for a very short time with light use......partly because I cant get to suck anything. I purchased to suck up water from when my washer leaked and it picked up nothing.....also when trying to suck up dry materials. it wouldn't even pick up a penny off the floor...Am I doing something wrong? When I remove the hose the suction is very strong...but when the hose is attached the suction is very poor...
Asked by: JenniferCordova
Sounds like you've got something blocking the hose. If you attach the hose and the motor changes to a higher pitched sound you've got a blocked hose.

Seeing as there is no foam filter with this unit, will it damage the vacuum to remove the filter for vacuuming up liquid?

Asked by: Timj
Absolutely! There must be a foam filter on the unit when vacuuming up liquids to prevent debris from getting in to the impeller.

replacement / different filters

it seems like all the filters you sell are for the larger vacs, are there any filters available to purchase for this vacuum if we need to replace the stock one or want a different filter? thanks

How often do I need to change the filter?

I have been cleaning out the ducs in my house and the one I got with the machine today already looks very dirty.
Asked by: bama97202
not sure, I use the bags for dry pick up only and the filter stays clean. You can feel the bag to see if getting full. For filter, suggest once a year if you use it to clean air ducts only...doesn't sound like you use it a lot. filters can last a long time and look like they are very dirty. You can take the filter off and tap it inside a garbage bag and run fingers over the filter to get some dirt, dust cobwebs off.

How do you clean the power head

and after removing the filler I noticed that a good amount of dust collects around the filler . I believe this happens when a bag is not used. In which I plan to do. I'm new to the product this will be my first time using it, being so Ied like to clean it thoroughly, for I'll be using inside my house.
Asked by: Donarp
Unless you are using it as a wet vac make sure to use a clean filter that is properly installed, (it's simple), and if need be wipe down the motor housing with a damp, not wet, cloth with the unit unplugged.
