Rated 5 out of 5 by from This vacuum is powerful This vacuum runs quite a bit quieter than our old Rigid vac. I find it's more compact as well but this doesn't effect the power. It has lots of power and its still easy to maneuver. Great features, great new look, phenomenal warranty, I'm happy with my new Rigid vacuum!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very powerful, great vacuum I bought this recently to use around the garage and as a job site dust collection system. It has performed beyond my expectations. The only drawback that is kind of a pain to deal with is the cart handle. The handle is great for moving the vacuum around either tipped on two wheels or sitting on all 4. That, and the storage bag, while a bit rudimentary, serves the purpose its there for pretty well. The problem comes when it’s time to empty the tub, since the cart handle is attached to the tub, tipping the tub over to dump it empties out all the items stored in the caddy bag. If they design a way for the handle to attach to the motor housing so the tub could be removed free and clear for dumping, this would be a five star review.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Filter Clogs with Concrete Dust Too Quickly The reason we spent $170 not $50 on a shop vac was for a remodel which required grinding glue/paint off interior concrete slab before tile install. The filter clogged up every 5 minutes or so and I had to stop working on the floor, go outside to use my air compressor to thoroughly clean the filter. I guess if I had multiple filters perhaps I could have changed them out and then lasted 30 minutes grinding the floor before cleaning numerous filters but I didn't think this Rigid couldn't handle the job so I only had the one filter. Have a behemoth shop vac using precious garage space now. For average use it performs very well but for construction dust the filter does what it is supposed to do but requires constant cleaning or changing

Is it normal for the motor to slow down and shut off?

I just bought the unit to suck up popcorn ceiling debris as I am scraping it. I had a bag installed, then changed my mind since the ceiling is wetted down and was concerned this would not work in a paper bag. Was only going for a few minutes and the unit shutdown twice. Motor smelled like it was overheating too. There is very little debris and dust in the tank, very surprised the motor could be stopped so quickly. Total work time was less than 10 minutes.

As soon as mine stopped picking up well I checked the filter. It clogs very rapidly (5-10 minutes) of grinding concrete. I had to stop grinding often to clean out the filter with my air compressor then back to working well. But 5-10 minutes interrupted by 5-10 minutes cleaning the filter makes for a very long job
