Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Suction, Portable, Many Attachments and Uses Great vacuum can hold up to use, use for commercial and home cleaning. I have 3 dogs and go through vacuums frequently. Purchased this hoping that this will last longer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Plenty of suction power and very portable. I have a dust collection system in my shop, so I purchased this for tasks away from the shop and to have a limited wet-vac capability. I have not tested the wet-vac yet, but find the dry-vac totally acceptable. I used it connected to my biscuit-jointer, on an indoor job and it literally captured all the dust and wood chips as they were produced (better than I expected). I also used it to vacuum my wife's car; I have always struggled to clean the carpet with my old vacuum using a tool much like the "multi-purpose" tool in the WD4070 kit, but the "car tool" [VT1481], which I purchased extra, was amazing on the car's carpet. A lot of reviews trashed the hose; it's not the best, but is also not unusable. I would have happily have paid a little more for the same unit with a better hose. Many reviewers complained the hose was kinked in the box, because the box was too small - not in my case. The variety of tools that came with was very limited, but not surprising at this price point. The tools and filters are pricey, but not more so that most other brands. I'm disappointed the only brush available is a plastic bristle brush. I much prefer a natural-bristle brush, even if it costs more. For portability, I wrap the cord around the handle assembly and coil the hose "twice" with one end stuck into the other and place the coil over the two wands sticking up from the tool holder - very portable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good vacuum and does the job! I wish it came with the brush attachment and a better hose. I had to purchase both of those separately. I needed the hose that has the collar to control the amount of suction. Love the wheels as it makes it much easier to move around.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product has great performance Works great, only wish the hose was more flexible I do renovations so somthing small light weight is important to me. I wonted to stick with the 5 peak hp suction that's why I didn't buy the smaller compact model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from easy to use and powerful I was very impressed with the power this small unit has. Perfect for my intended usage. I can't comment on the durability yet, but I expect it to be just fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We like the smaller size We did have a RIDGID 6 gal. but we saw the 4 gal. on TV and like the smaller size. We liked the 6 gal. but for our use the 4 gal. is a better size and takes up less space. Also it is nice to be able to carry some of the tools on the vac.

Did I get a dud?

I have had this unit for a very short time with light use......partly because I cant get to suck anything. I purchased to suck up water from when my washer leaked and it picked up nothing.....also when trying to suck up dry materials. it wouldn't even pick up a penny off the floor...Am I doing something wrong? When I remove the hose the suction is very strong...but when the hose is attached the suction is very poor...
Asked by: JenniferCordova
Sounds like you've got something blocking the hose. If you attach the hose and the motor changes to a higher pitched sound you've got a blocked hose.

Seeing as there is no foam filter with this unit, will it damage the vacuum to remove the filter for vacuuming up liquid?

Asked by: Timj
Absolutely! There must be a foam filter on the unit when vacuuming up liquids to prevent debris from getting in to the impeller.

replacement / different filters

it seems like all the filters you sell are for the larger vacs, are there any filters available to purchase for this vacuum if we need to replace the stock one or want a different filter? thanks

How often do I need to change the filter?

I have been cleaning out the ducs in my house and the one I got with the machine today already looks very dirty.
Asked by: bama97202
not sure, I use the bags for dry pick up only and the filter stays clean. You can feel the bag to see if getting full. For filter, suggest once a year if you use it to clean air ducts only...doesn't sound like you use it a lot. filters can last a long time and look like they are very dirty. You can take the filter off and tap it inside a garbage bag and run fingers over the filter to get some dirt, dust cobwebs off.

How do you clean the power head

and after removing the filler I noticed that a good amount of dust collects around the filler . I believe this happens when a bag is not used. In which I plan to do. I'm new to the product this will be my first time using it, being so Ied like to clean it thoroughly, for I'll be using inside my house.
Asked by: Donarp
Unless you are using it as a wet vac make sure to use a clean filter that is properly installed, (it's simple), and if need be wipe down the motor housing with a damp, not wet, cloth with the unit unplugged.
