What is the difference between the exposed and enclosed die heads?

The choice is mainly personal preference and compatibility with power threaders you may already own. “Exposed” & “Enclosed” are describing the type of ratcheting mechanism in the handle and the way the ratcheting mechanism relates to the die head. • With Exposed models the die head is placed into the handle and the ratchet pawl engages with the ring of openings on the die head body to perform the turning of the die head. The pawl is visible therefore it is exposed to the eye. • With Enclosed models the die head is placed into a ratchet ring in the handle. The pawl engages the ratchet ring rather than the die head itself. The ratcheting mechanism is “Enclosed” within the handle and cannot be seen. The main feature differences are physical size of each head and how large the overall capacity of the model chosen The 12R models (Exposed) are designed to fit directly into a 700 Power drive whereas the 11R models (Enclosed) fit into the 600 & 690 Power drives. The 700 Power drive also allows the OO-R & 11-R Models to fit with the use of an adapter. Stopping into a distributor and physically seeing the difference of each will speak 1,000 words

will this head fit in my 12r stock? Is there a bolt head chuck, like the nipple chuck?
