Rated 3 out of 5 by from Regulator limits tool pressure to 150 psi. Can’t adjust over that. I called Ridgid about this. They say the regulator for tool pressure should go up to 200 psi, They are wrong. I purchased one, it won’t let me set it higher than 150 psi on the tool side. took it back due to this 150 limit and them saying it should go to 200. and the 2nd unit does the exact same thing. Seams Ridgid doesn’t know their own product or the assembly is used the wrong regulator. I followed the break in procedure and included the 50% duty cycle, 5 minutes on and 5 off, and repeat till I had 30 minutes of total run time without any pressure. Closed drain valves and it Compresses up to 200 psi quite well. Only disappointment is, it won’t let me go any higher than 150 psi on the tool side. It is bad when a manufacturer doesn’t know their own product though I do like the compressor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Compressor is built rock solid and should last a long time with proper care. Great unit for the small shop or pro. One of the best "bang -for-your-buck" air compressors out there. The 3 year warranty is a big plus. Good job RIDGID!

Real amps draw?

I have seen ratings of 5.1 aps, 15 amps, and 4600 watts (45+amps on Home Depot site q&a). What does it really draw at startup and runnng under load? I need to know if my inverter can run the load and obviously it does not draw 4600 watts or it would have to have a 50 amp plug.
Asked by: WarrenC
I’m going to answer it my self. Draws 14.5 amps at startup at 120 volts. This will pop an old week 15 amp breaker or a good 15 amp breaker if your voltage drops to low. That is just under 1500 watts at startup.

How loud is it? What is the decibel rating?

Asked by: JohnA
According to Home Depot, 77 dB. Which is just a tad quieter than a noisy garbage disposal or standing by a freeway in a city at 50 ft from pavement edge at 10 a.m.
