Rated 5 out of 5 by This is a power house I have had this for about 5 years now and this thing is a beast! I love the feel of of it, it's not too heavy and with the right bits it will drill through just about anything. Like most contractors I prefer my cordless drill and driver but sometimes I get big jobs that will eat up my batteries like candy so instead of messing with chargers and all that I just use this. I wish Ridgid would make a corded 1/4 impact to compliment this drill. March 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Won't buy any other now that I have tried the best Tried my elitist nephew's corded Rigid many years ago and it was what a corded drill should be in feel , power and durability. Now I only buy the Rigid Line and am a full convert for my Carpentry and Renovation Business of 45 years. Also have had many of the 18V Portables and find them worthwhile and strong competition to the Toys the other guys are using. I recommend the full line of Rigid and their spectrum of very good tools for the professional and the elitist handy man who want only the best like me. Thanks Guys and Gals. January 7, 2015

Rated 3 out of 5 by Do not like not having a keyed chuck I use this drill for long periods of time when scaling buckets of fish, and have noticed the chuck comes loose after a while causing the teeth to start to strip. I wish they would stop making these key less chucks and go back to the original keyed chucks. With the key less chucks you just cant get enough torque on them to tighten them fully as if you could with a key. November 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by great drill Got this from home depot and am very pleased with the way it works. Seems very durable and that it is well built. November 25, 2014

Answer:
No, there is not an optional key type chuck that RIDGID offers and can recommend for use on the R70011 3/8” VSR drill. If you can let us know what your specific requirements are we may be able to offer a suitable replacement for your requirements.

Thank you

Answer:
Buy a Jacobs Chuck and it will replace the Rigid which slips the bits and they fall out too often. A Jacobs Chuck would be an excellent to eliminate this annoyance. The Keyless and the Keyed Chuck should be both about the same; sliip free and less annoying. Rigid Please take Note check out the Jacobs replacement. Also Milwalkie has this problem in their drills; the bit just falls out way too often when walking to the nest use on the job.
