Model WD1450

This RIDGID® 14 gallon High Performance Wet/Dry Vac is designed to deliver the powerful suction, large capacity, and rugged construction in a more compact design than is offered in our largest cart type vacs. The vacuum’s 14 gallon drum size helps us achieve a more compact overall design but it still provides a big capacity capable of handling large job-site chores. The 6.0 peak HP motor delivers the high performance necessary to handle these chores. Other key features include; a 3-layer fine dust filter captures dry wall dust, accessories are stored on-board, casters provide 360° mobility. Add a top handle with a cord wrap, heavy duty 2-piece drum construction, a large drain and you’ve got a wet/dry vac that achieves the demands of Pro’s on the job site or in the shop.

Features

  • 6.0 Peak HP Motor provides powerful suction to handle tough jobsite clean-up
  • Scroll Noise Reduction® is a patented feature that provides quiet operation by precisely controlling the flow of air through the vac
  • 4 Swivel Casters provide easy 360° mobility
  • Quick Release on-board accessory holder offers storage space for 5 accessories plus the hose
  • 2-Piece Drum provides improved, more rugged construction to meet the higher demands found on the job site
  • 3-layer Fine Dust Filter captures fine dust particles such as dry wall dust
  • 7' Dual-Flex® Locking Hose resists collapsing and adds 180˚ flexibility at both hose ends. Hose locks onto vac for uninterrupted cleaning
  • Large Carry Handle allows easy lifting of vac into service vehicle
  • Long 20’ Cord wraps neatly around carry handle
  • Powerful exhaust airstream can be directed through the vac hose to blow debris from garages, decks, and sidewalks

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 262 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 I like the onboard storage The unit seems to work well. It has sucked up everything I've asked of it. It has convenient storage for the attachments and hose. No more lost parts, or tripping over a hose that sticks out and gets in the way when not being used. I've been using it primarily as a dust collection system for a belt sander and table saw, and it has worked nicely. The unit is quieter than I expected. My only real complaints are that I wish it had a universal adapter for hooking up to different sized dust ports, and the bags for collecting sawdust are way overpriced. August 27, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by very powerful very quiet I use this attached to all my ridgid power tools and it works great. Lots of power and its really quiet compared to others. I have used it on my planner, table saw and chop saw so far and very easy to hook up. I also purchased the ridgid pro hose as its longer then the one supplied with it. August 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good vacuum I have a small business of car wash and detail and these vacuum is perfect for it August 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this vacuum! I can't say anything about durability after only having it a couple months. As for performance - it takes all the dog hair out of my truck's cloth seats almost on the first pass and does it incredibly quiet. Vacuuming anything else is a breeze. And you can talk with someone while you vacuum. August 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great vacuum This is a great buy for the price. Very powerful also not too loud. The only thing I would like is a slightly longer hose. August 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Soild Overall-Great Purchase I've owned it for a month and have put it through the paces. So far it's exceeded my expectations. Its been used to suck up every kind of home demo debris there is and its been great. All vacs are loud, but this one doesn't have that annoying, high-frequency loud that I've had with other wet/dry vacs. I've owned 3 other brands of wet/dry vacs and this one is the best. August 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A great buy for the money. Not only is this a powerful machine with great suction; it is made in America. The bonus car care kit is an added bonus. Unlike other brands, parts from one model are designed to fit other models through the use of adapters if necessary, though it appears that the parts function on either machine even without it. August 10, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Many attachments. Easy to keep track, of them... I have only, used this vacuum twice. I haven't even tried the car brushes, etc, That's why, I gave it a four star. It appears to be Well made. It has great suction. It sucked our carpet off the floor. The main thing, it's quiet. Nothing, like our old Shop Vac. I had to wear ear protectors, when I used it. I am very pleased with this Rigid product. After I use it, for awhile, it will deserve 5 Stars.. August 6, 2015

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

When vacuuming liquids, please take note that when picking up small amounts of liquid the filter may be left in place and when picking up large amounts of liquid we recommend that the filter be removed. If the filter is not removed, it will become saturated and misting may appear in the exhaust.

We hope this meets your needs.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to call us at 1-800-4-RIDGID (1-800-474-3443) or you may send your email to [email protected]

Answer:
If you can removed the filter it would be better, if you must be aware you will need to purchase a replacement sooner than later. Once the filter gets wet you loose ALOT of suction and cause the motor to run hotter, continued use like this will cause the motor to fail, Just like covering your radiator in your car and going down the highway, it will do it but not for long.

Better to just remove, also gives you a chance to clean it and keep the unit running at its best.

Answer:
Don't have a DB meter handy but it is a shop vac, it will be hard to hear if you are in a small room. This unit is MUCH quieter than the unit it replaced. It is better than older units.

Answer:
uhhh...call me lame, but a "decible meter" is NOT a piece of equip. that anyone I know (including myself) would tend to purchase...so I can't answer this question. IF the owners manuel lists the decible level, I'm not about to go fish for that info. Sorry. That's an unusual question to ask a custormer. Decible level? Really?
