Model WD1450

This RIDGID® 14 gallon High Performance Wet/Dry Vac is designed to deliver the powerful suction, large capacity, and rugged construction in a more compact design than is offered in our largest cart type vacs. The vacuum’s 14 gallon drum size helps us achieve a more compact overall design but it still provides a big capacity capable of handling large job-site chores. The 6.0 peak HP motor delivers the high performance necessary to handle these chores. Other key features include; a 3-layer fine dust filter captures dry wall dust, accessories are stored on-board, casters provide 360° mobility. Add a top handle with a cord wrap, heavy duty 2-piece drum construction, a large drain and you’ve got a wet/dry vac that achieves the demands of Pro’s on the job site or in the shop.

Features

  • 6.0 Peak HP Motor provides powerful suction to handle tough jobsite clean-up
  • Scroll Noise Reduction® is a patented feature that provides quiet operation by precisely controlling the flow of air through the vac
  • 4 Swivel Casters provide easy 360° mobility
  • Quick Release on-board accessory holder offers storage space for 5 accessories plus the hose
  • 2-Piece Drum provides improved, more rugged construction to meet the higher demands found on the job site
  • 3-layer Fine Dust Filter captures fine dust particles such as dry wall dust
  • 7' Dual-Flex® Locking Hose resists collapsing and adds 180˚ flexibility at both hose ends. Hose locks onto vac for uninterrupted cleaning
  • Large Carry Handle allows easy lifting of vac into service vehicle
  • Long 20’ Cord wraps neatly around carry handle
  • Powerful exhaust airstream can be directed through the vac hose to blow debris from garages, decks, and sidewalks

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 226 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not too happy is my 2 vacuum and less than a year and after 2 weeks the wet dry get burned i take it to home depot back to get my warranty and they just ignored me. April 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Loved it so much I bought 13 more I have owned this model at home for several years and have used it as a dust collection system in my wood shop. When we needed vacs for the different work areas around the warehouse at my work I purchased thirteen more. The vacuum is quiet compared to other vacuums. It has a lot of suction. For fine dust, the filters need to be cleaned well before the 14 gallon canister is full. I just blow them off with the discharge from the vacuum. At work we always run the high efficiency drywall dust type filter bags in them in addition to the regular filter and they will go a long time before the bags get full. I backed off the rating a little bit because cleaning the canister filter is a little harder than on my old vacuum of another brand. These have a rubber end on the canister so when you try to blow out the inside of the filter it blows back in your face. The old vacuum filter was open on both ends so the dust blew clear through. Rated 4 out of 5 by The product does it's job. We use these for insulation installation clean-up. Really need a heavier duty model . March 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Well thought out design I love the handle....so I can pick it up with one hand. It's much quieter than my old vac and the attachments all fit nicely on board. The longer cord is nice. I'm very impressed with the thought that went into designing this vacuum. It has a low profile so when I tug it across the floor by the hose, it doesn't tip over. March 29, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good over-all vac Made our work very easy when our basement took on some water from our next door neighbor's flood. Only wish this equipt. was made to have an optional conversion to pump the water back out once it becomes full. If you have to use this in a basement because your installed sump pump failed to work, then just replace your sump (or untility) pump. Otherwise, you won't be able to carry this unit, full of water, to another level to eject the water. I learned the hard way. :-) March 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Size and performance is great I think this size is adequate for my conditions and stores well. Noise level is fine and suction is fantastic. March 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Working Vaccuum This vaccuum is great. Picks up dirt very easily and it is easy to move along. March 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This dry vac really works well! Our old one died, so we read reviews of different vacs and this one was in our price range. Really good value for the money. March 15, 2015

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

When vacuuming liquids, please take note that when picking up small amounts of liquid the filter may be left in place and when picking up large amounts of liquid we recommend that the filter be removed. If the filter is not removed, it will become saturated and misting may appear in the exhaust.

We hope this meets your needs.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to call us at 1-800-4-RIDGID (1-800-474-3443) or you may send your email to [email protected]

Answer:
If you can removed the filter it would be better, if you must be aware you will need to purchase a replacement sooner than later. Once the filter gets wet you loose ALOT of suction and cause the motor to run hotter, continued use like this will cause the motor to fail, Just like covering your radiator in your car and going down the highway, it will do it but not for long.

Better to just remove, also gives you a chance to clean it and keep the unit running at its best.

Answer:
Don't have a DB meter handy but it is a shop vac, it will be hard to hear if you are in a small room. This unit is MUCH quieter than the unit it replaced. It is better than older units.

Answer:
uhhh...call me lame, but a "decible meter" is NOT a piece of equip. that anyone I know (including myself) would tend to purchase...so I can't answer this question. IF the owners manuel lists the decible level, I'm not about to go fish for that info. Sorry. That's an unusual question to ask a custormer. Decible level? Really?
