Rated 5 out of 5 by An excellent vac Strong suction, small design, it works as it should. It is a little top heavy, tends to tip easily, but once it's got some dirt in it, the center of gravity becomes lower and it sits firm. Great for quick pickups, and easily portable. January 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy to use I used it on the interior of my car. It was a slushy mess & now looks like new! The car detailing package made it easy . The long hose & flexible wand were just what I needed to do a professional looking job . What a great birthday present! January 4, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Well built good performance Well built, but cord could be longer and filter is a bit difficult to remove suction very good January 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by WICKED product I use this vacuum to do mobile car detailing, the toughest jobs in the dirtiest SUV's all the way to the finer work involved in my process. This vacuum does it all and never gives up. Suction power is great and cleaning the filter is easy, wet or dry it keeps on going and using the car detailing kit has made it a perfect solution. Rated 5 out of 5 by great size, portability, and adaptability great size ( a little heavier than others ), portability, and same hose size as my larger unit ( therefor adaptable to all my attachments ). simply a great addition to your cleaning arsenal. PS - don't miss the power dust pan trick December 20, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great wet/dry vacuum I saw a couple of restoration contractors using one. I bought one based on that. Works very well. My only con is the paper filter which is difficult to brush out I would recommend this unit to a friend December 19, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Small but Powerful I have just received this Vac but started using it and so far very happy with it. I got it to use with a sanding vac attachment to sand down drywall joint compound. it has enough power to do many jobs I would say but is nice and compact that it can be easily moved around unlike my bigger wet dry vac. It doesn't have a bunch of attachments and didn't really need them. it has a narrow wand and a hose. it also has a unique attachment that is on the vac that the hose and wand fit into. I have not used it but see it could be handy if it works. December 16, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pretty darn good... This is a pretty good set up for a small shop vac. Good power and suction which is what you're after in a shop vac. That said there are a couple of issues. The ring on the end of the hose covers a vent that allows you to adjust pressure... Great idea BUT the ring is as cheap as it gets and not being a full circle I can see it getting lost. It should have a positive locking indent to keep it from turning unless you want it to turn and a design that prevents it from coming off. The latches are a little cheaper that what I'm used to in full size Ridgid vacs. We'll see how they last. While tremendous suction when not using a bag, when you do use the bag it cuts down as the bag is too big. The bag is made for 4.5 to 3 gal models soit over wraps the compartment and never really expands to allow stuff to fill it appropriately. They should create a bag just for the 3 gal that will expand. Also the LED attachment is a joke. The switch is so cheap the light doesn't stay on unless you hold the switch! This one came free with this vac at Thanksgiving so not an issue. But improve the dang switch if you want folks to buy this thing! December 8, 2015

Vacuum Bag

I own the Rigid WD1450 vac and love it. Was looking for a portable unit as well. Does this smaller vac have an option to use vacuum bags in addition to the filter. I prefer to use the bags in addition to the filter when picking up drywall dust. Thank you.

Answer:
Thank you for contacting RIDGID.

It is not recommended to use a filter bag on the WD3050 3 gallon portable pro wet/dry vac because the drum is small and the bag will not fully expand inside. For drywall dust pickups, you could upgrade the filter with VF3500 fine dust filter (blue) sold at Home Depot stores.

Answer:
Yes, BUT the bag is made for the 4.5 and the 3 gal units so it's size in the 3 gal unit is too big thus preventing it from fully opening up for debris.
