Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 185 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 Excellent for Condensate Drain Cleaning!!!! So, my A/C unit's condensate drain clogged up and overflowed. It spilled water in the basement (to a confined area) and got under the basement carpet. Didn't have the money to pay for a service call so I consulted YouTube for alternative solutions. Found a video by an HVAC expert who recommended using a wet vac to suck the clog out of the drain pipe. Sounded reasonable, did a quick search at Home Depot (.com) for wet/dry vacs in stock at the HD I work at. Found 2 models worth looking into, the 3-gallon and the 6-gallon W/D vacs. The 3G was $49.97, the 6G was $46.97 and came with more attachments included! No brainer, got the 6G and two extra attachments, the tool adapter and the wet squeegee attachment. I cut the tool (sawdust adapter) to fit snug on the drain pipe (1" PVC pipe) and sucked the pipe dry! Turned the A/C back on and now almost a full day later no more overflow! Vacuumed the water out of the rug (will require a few attempts more) to dry the carpet, and it worked like a charm! The squeegee attachment doesn't do well on the carpet, but on the concrete floor in my machine room it will do fine, if the thing overflows again. The regular carpet attachment worked great, created a strong seal on the carpet and drew most of the moisture out! But it will take a few more attempts to get it all out. SO, if any of you reading this have a similar problem with your A/C drain clogging up, here's your solution!!!! July 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent piece of equipment. This product is a great tool when it comes to small jobs. July 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Powerfull This vacuum has been great in my workshop for all uses. July 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product from RIDGID! This Wet/Dry Vacuum has a lot of power to say the least. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a brush and crevice tool included with this particular model and had to purchase them separately. I would suggest RIDGID include a brush and crevice tool with this model Wet/Dry Vac. July 10, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by It would be great if Ridgid made a attachment to clean carpet. It's brand new so no rating on durability. It vacuums fine,A little loud but I don't have it on all day,so not a problem. So far it has done its job fine and I have used these vacs in the past on other jobs sites so it was a well known tool with a good rep.It would be great to have a attachment to vac carpet,as the floor attach. just is not made with that in mind.Overall I know I will be happy with this vac. Rated 4 out of 5 by this product has great suction. great vacuum just had to buy twenty five dollars worth of accessories so i could use it in my vehicle. for what i spent on it i could have bought a bigger and better vacuum. July 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is good but has some missing features. The 6gal. wet and dry vac is well put together, the power of the unit is great, the big problem I had was it didn't have some nozzle attachments to care of some jobs.It would of been nice to have some nozzles in the box instead of having to go out and purchase some. Rated 4 out of 5 by awesome little Vac could use a longer hose, and a muffler, lol, this little thing is loud. But a good vac for what I need it for, the car, dust around the garage. Had to buy bristle and nook pieces which should have come with it, but hey, it is what it is. June 29, 2015

I have been unable to find any information elsewhere. I have this model and it has been great this past year but recently every time I turn on the vacuum, it sucks (like it's supposed to) and it blows air from the blowing port. How can I fix this problem so only one of these features works at a time (separately)?

Answer:
-We would like to let you know that there is no way to stop the blowing feature of the vac because the vac is design to blow air at same time while you are vacuuming. Air will be drawn into the vacuum through the suction port and exit through the blower port. The debris that has been picked up by the vacuum should be captured by the filter. With the correct filter properly installed, only clean air would be exiting the exhaust.
We hope this information helps. Have a great day!

Thank you

Answer:
There is nothing wrong with your blowing feature. in order for the motor to be able to create suction, it has to both intake air and exhaust air. As with any vac you have ever owner, there is always an exhaust, the blower is the exhaust.

Just the same as when you remove the top to use just the blower, there is an intake ontop of the motor which if you put your hand there, you will feel the suction.

Your vac is functioning as it should. Happy cleaning.

Answer:
All vacuums of this type take in air though one inlet (where the hose is normally connected), run it into the can through the filter and then expel it through the outlet (the blowing port). If I understand your question correctly, your vac is working as it should. Strictly speaking, it is air in, air out,

Answer:
The motor must exhaust air from the unit. Home Depot sells a "diffuser" for $12 it just attaches to the the exhaust port an helps out tremendously. Good luck

Answer:
You cannot. It is supposed to have an 'exhaust'. Any motor designed to blow or suck will do both at the same time. Stopping or blocking one will disable the other.

Answer:
Like all vacuums, the blower motor, which creates vacuum, must have a way to remove the air from the canister in order to pick-up material. The "exhaust" port on your vacuum, in the last few years, has been engineered to be used as a "blower" when the suction hose is attached. The filter, we use the micron filter that is available, must be installed and will produce almost perfectly clean air to push item or dirt across any surface. So the blowing out of air at the exhaust port is normal. If it's not blowing strongly, the filter is in need of replacement or cleaning. Most filters can be washed and dried and reused several times. You must always be aware of the direction of the discharge air in order to prevent make a larger "mess" to clean up.

I'm planning to buy a vacuum cleaner that utilizes water only as filter. I do not wish to use any dust bag or paper filter anymore as dust particles accumulate on the exhaust portion and when you turn on the unit, you can see dust particles being emitted into the air.

Is the 6 Gallon WDO671EXO fit for continued performance in the house using water alone as filter? TIA.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

The WD0671EX0 is a wet/dry vac. Thus, you can expect the same performance when using the vac for wet pickups. We recommend that you use the VF7000 for large amounts of liquid pickups.
