New RPE 100 PEX Expander

July 7, 2026

ELYRIA, OHIO – July 7, 2026 – RIDGID®, a part of Emerson’s professional tools portfolio, is entering a new product category with its first PEX expansion tool: the RPE 100 PEX Expander. Engineered for fast, reliable and consistent expansions, the RPE 100 combines contractor-driven innovation along with the durability and performance that have defined RIDGID tools for more than a century.

Built for residential plumbing contractors, service plumbers and commercial installers, the RPE 100 expands RIDGID’s product portfolio while meeting growing demand for efficient PEX installation solutions in new construction and service applications. With threaded, interchangeable heads, the expander can handle common plumbing jobs and fits tubing sizes ranging from 3/8” to 1” PEX Type-A tubing.

AutoReturn Technology Eliminates Manual Resets

The RPE 100 features industry-first AutoReturn technology, which automatically returns the expansion head to the closed position after each expansion. This innovation eliminates the need for manual resets, helps ensure expanders are never left open between connections, and saves time on every cycle, addressing one of the most common inefficiencies plumbers experience with manual PEX expanders.

Powered by a high‑efficiency brushless motor, the RPE 100 delivers faster expansion cycles to help plumbers complete more connections in less time without sacrificing consistency. An auto‑rotating head ensures even, uniform expansion across PEX fittings, reducing the risk of under‑expansion, minimizing rework and improving overall connection reliability on the jobsite.

This compact, lightweight tool offers an ergonomic paddle trigger for precise control in tight spaces and includes dual-press activation to reduce accidental startups. It features a belt hook for easy portability, a built-in work light for use in low-light areas, and maintenance indicators, helping to prolong tool life and ensure reliable operation.

“Entering the PEX expansion category was a natural next step for RIDGID as we continue to invest in flameless connection technologies,” said Emily Stuart, product manager, pressing, expansion and bending, RIDGID for Emerson. “With the RPE 100, we focused on eliminating the small inefficiencies that slow plumbers down every day with features like AutoReturn, consistent rotation and brushless power. It delivers a faster, more confident and reliable experience built on the RIDGID legacy.”
