Rated 2.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by poor product support I used my sander for a short time before the sanding pad wore down. Home Depot does not stock them and Ridgid's warranty is not easy to use nor practical. A new pad thru this website is $42! Ridiculous. A poorly designed part needs additional supplied with the product and availability at the store. I bought a 2 pack on another website for less$ April 17, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by It was a great sander while it lasted. I have two of these sanders. Neither lasted more than a year before it quit working. The first one was the motor and the second was the switch. I had not registered either and Home Depot would not help me. So I took the switch from one and put it in the other. It worked up until this weekend and a bearing went out in the drive. The pad flops around. Now I am just a hobbyist and don't really use a sander that much so it doesn't seem that they should be wearing out this fast. I have a 5" dewalt that is ten years old. I am going to give both to Home Depots Ridgid rep and see if he can tell me why they worn out so soon. December 23, 2013

The sanding pads I was able to get stopped adhering to the Hook and Loop Backing Pad about half way through sanding the wood on my deck. Help?

Also, I could not find 6-hole pads, only 8-hole so the holes on the pads do not line up with the Hook and Loop Backing Pag holes. Is that usual?

Answer:
If the Velcro hooks and loops on a sanders backing pad are no longer holding the sanding disc in place, it is a sign that the hooks and loops are worn and damaged, and the backing pad will need to be replaced. A correct replacement backing pad for a RIDGID sander can be ordered from the RIDGID master parts distributor at 1-877-544-9253. Correct sanding discs for your RIDGID sander should be available/in stock at your local Home Depot.
