Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 151 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by This has been a great purchase. I use this for about everything. Even dog hair on furniture. Does wonders in the car, garage, etc......... April 8, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Wet dry vac The thing that I must say is, The suction hose and attachments are BIG, FAT, ROUND, and after using the vacuum on wet floor many, many hours, your hands become tired, of holding those FAT attachments. It has great sucking power, and did a good of getting the water out of the basement carpets after our water heater decided to split apart. What a (Fricken) mess. That is why my ratings are average for, Ease of use. Maybe add a handle to the one attachment used mostly (extension). As far as Durability, I can only go by the name RIDGID a tool I have used for over 45 years. Thank you and keep on improving... Glenn April 4, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by great suction and capacity, but top is too loose when transporting. I bought this based on the great reputation and personal experience with Ridgid tools. The motor has shut off on me abruptly twice so far in the 2 different times I have used it. Don't know why, but it wasn't under a load either. After a couple of minutes it comes back on. The top fits loosely when attached to the lower piece. But it holds great suction when on. If it shuts off on me again, I will be taking this back where I got it. Hopefully it doesn't. March 31, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by I am not impressed with some of the design changes! THE HOSE LATCHES ARE NOT REALLY AN IMPROVEMENT! The new filter attachment method wasn't necessary; the old way was fine! I have not had to change the filter as yet. Change for the sake of change never really did impress me! The vacuum is quieter than my old one of the same size. I bought this one because I needed a new hose & other attachments & as these parts were at least 60% of a new unit with the necessary parts that I needed; I purchased this one. March 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by came with an extra $30 accessory kit with a nozzle with built in LEDS all of my home tools are ridged you cant beat the prices the quality and the life time warranty excellent tools March 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Value ! Great Machine Assembly is easy, fired it up and started on my first project. 3 hours later, (It was a big construction cleanup) The job site was clean, customer happy and went on to the next job. Great Machine. Thanks RIDGID. March 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by My last Ridgit vacuum lasted over 13 yrs This is a great vacuum with a good price. I keep it pluged in, in my garage and use it a few times a week. March 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good tool/appliance; essential in a garage or shop Very much like the shopvac...used to have a larger Ridgid shopvac lasted many years...particularly like the bag that goes into the tank for dry stuff and dust. March 25, 2015

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

If you are picking up clean water, the pleated paper filter should be removed.

When picking up small amounts of liquid the paper filter may be left in place. Please note that when the filter becomes saturated, misting may occur at the blower port. To further protect the motor of the vac, there is a wet filter (VF7000 part number) available. This filter can only be used for 5 gallon and larger vacs. The VF7000 filter is available at any local Home Depot store or it can be purchase through our Customer Service organization over the phone 1-800-4-RIDGID (1-800-474-3443) or on-line at www.ridgidparts.com.

Additionally, when picking up large volume of liquids, the liquid in the drum may reach a predetermined level and the float mechanism will rise automatically to cut off airflow. This occurs to avoid liquids from entering the power head. When this happens, turn off the vac, unplug the power cord, and empty the drum. For this reason, it is important NOT to leave the vac running unattended during operation.

Before storage, the filter must be dried to avoid possible mildew and damage to the filter. We recommend that you clean or wash the filter then let it air dry overnight. Please check the filter for holes or tears after each cleaning. The filter might need to be replaced if it has any damage.

I've been trying to find the proper vacuum bag and how to attach/install it into this vacuum that I've had for years. Anybody have a solution? I'm heading to the HD this afternoon to see what they say.

In the previous question about bags for this model, the answer give was to use the VF3502 filter bags. However, the instructions for installing the bag on the 2 rib inlet tube don't match the anatomy of the WD1270, which has an inlet tube that is molded into the body at the bottom so the cardboard collar cannot be attached.

You will need to punch a hole on the cardboard before sliding it over the inlet tube inside the drum.

Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

The gap between the lid (top) and the drum (bottom) will create a tight vacuum seal during operation. We do not have a rubber gasket available but you can use a weather stripping if you like a tight fit during non-operation.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to call us at 1-800-4-RIDGID (1-800-474-3443) or you may send your email to [email protected]

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

We would like you to know that there is no way to stop the air coming out from the exhaust port. The RIDGID® vacuum and blower ports would be functioning at the same time. You just need to attach the hose to whichever port is applicable to the job. Air will be drawn into the vacuum through the suction port and exit through the blower port. The debris that has been picked up by the vacuum should be captured by the filter. With the correct filter properly installed, only clean air would be exiting the exhaust. Installing an air diffuser (part number VT2525) would help diffuse the strength of the air and reduce the noise from the vacuum.

We hope this meets your needs. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to call us at 1-800-4-RIDGID (1-800-474-3443) or you may send your email to [email protected]
