Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice product with good features. Replaced an older shop vacuum with this unit. The Ridgid has nice storage features for the attachments and hose when they are not being used. It is much quieter than my old unit and seems to have ample suction for picking up waste materials.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product has features I was looking for. This product is quieter then competitors. Ease of use and the power it has is great. Can't wait to get into some wood projects this spring. Time will tell, but so far I think its a great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It has the proper amount of suction 5 hp provides the proper amount of suction to clean drywall dust from carpeting. It lifts the carpeting from the floor proving to me that every little bit of drywall dust is being sucked out of the carpeting below. Mind you I did use drop cloths, but drywall dust got under them. YES. this was a Good buy for me and it has performed quite well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Durability yet to be established. The only reason I bought this brand is because of the Lifetime warranty. If the vacuum is anything like the one I had before and it looks like the same model Ridged, I don't put out to much hope that it will last more than a few years. The quality in the past has been dismal at best. It has the same cheap flexible hose that gets so stiff when the temps drop below 40 degrees. The hose moves the vacuum everywhere as you move the wand around due to its lack of flexibility.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size, balance and clean up strength. Midsized but with the larger tubes and power of the larger units. Completes ever job with ease. Great attachments that are easy to change and store. Does not tip over Luke the larger shop vacs tend to do when empty. Does not drag or rub on the walls when I move it from room to room. Everyone should pick this ridgid shopvac.

how to switch function from blower to vacuum port

I hooked hose to vacuum port and it worked well. I turned it off I returned later, turned it on and blower port was on,.. with hose in vacuum port. Cant get it to vacuum again.
Asked by: LikeClean
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID! We would like you to know that there is no way to stop the air coming out from the exhaust port. The RIDGID® vacuum and blower ports would be functioning at the same time. You just need to attach the hose to whichever port is applicable to the job. Air will be drawn into the vacuum through the suction port and exit through the blower port. The debris that has been picked up by the vacuum should be captured by the filter. With the correct filter properly installed, only clean air would be exiting the exhaust. Installing an air diffuser (part number VT2525) would help diffuse the strength of the air and reduce the noise from the vacuum. We hope this meets your needs. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to call us at 1-800-4-RIDGID (1-800-474-3443) or you may send your email to Regards, RIDGID

How do you install VF3502 filter bag on the WD1270 vacuum?

In the previous question about bags for this model, the answer give was to use the VF3502 filter bags. However, the instructions for installing the bag on the 2 rib inlet tube don't match the anatomy of the WD1270, which has an inlet tube that is molded into the body at the bottom so the cardboard collar cannot be attached.
Asked by: haphaz
I didn't have a problem...the bag seemed to fit and hold for me.

Vacuum bags, which ones and how to install?

I've been trying to find the proper vacuum bag and how to attach/install it into this vacuum that I've had for years. Anybody have a solution? I'm heading to the HD this afternoon to see what they say.
Asked by: Javre123
HD has the generic 9 to 15 gallon vac bags that are a bit too long but work anyway. These are the ones I use.

Is there supposed to be a rubber gasket or seal between the top and bottom? Mine doesn't have one.

Asked by: chbelt
I am not sure, mine doesn't have one either. But I am thinking about running a small bead of rtv silicone in the groove where I think there should be one. My top is loose when it is locked on.
