Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 131 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very easy to set up. lie the way the hose wraps around the top. I bought this model because it has a bag to collect the dust/dirt instead of just an open tub. I tried it out right away on dog hair on the seats and was very happy when it took off all the dog hair and there was a lot on them. My craftsman vac. wouldn't come close to doing it. It has lot of power which surprise me as for all the other types I have had this one is the best. It does a real good job on the car floor and cracks, and the blower part is very powerful I haven't tried it on cleaning up water yet but I think it will do just great, Just be sure to take out the bag first. One other nice feature is the light on the pickup nozzle February 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great piece of equipment this product is easy and powerful what use to take two hours to clean out my Car and garage now only takes half the time. and i don't even have to use a broom. February 22, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Vacuum for the Price The only bad thing about this vacuum is the exhaust is a blower port and it blows straight out toward you when you are using it. This is the first shop vacuum that I have ever had that is designed this way. Check out Shop Vac their exhaust is shielded. February 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great produce at a great price Very impressed with this vac. Good suction, much quieter than anticipated and very versatile considering the tools it came with. Can't comment on durability as I just purchased it but I expect it to last. Do yourself a favor - include this product in your comparisons - I think you will be impressed. February 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works great so far. Works great with my Ridgid table saw, Ridgid band saw and Rockler router table fence. Excellent performance vacuuming the floor of my woodworking shop. It's replacing a shop-vac that only lasted 3 years. Hopefully this Ridgid vacuum will match the Ridgid saws in quality and durability. February 13, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Product has great features. Easy to set up, moves easily, good accessories. I like the interior filter bag as well. February 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by vac has good power and very friendly to use. Works good, I thought the power was good, it pulled around very good also. February 12, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Works well. Lifetime warranty The unit works well, although I have only used it 1X. The lifetime warranty is the best. Thank You February 12, 2015

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

If you are picking up clean water, the pleated paper filter should be removed.

When picking up small amounts of liquid the paper filter may be left in place. Please note that when the filter becomes saturated, misting may occur at the blower port. To further protect the motor of the vac, there is a wet filter (VF7000 part number) available. This filter can only be used for 5 gallon and larger vacs. The VF7000 filter is available at any local Home Depot store or it can be purchase through our Customer Service organization over the phone 1-800-4-RIDGID (1-800-474-3443) or on-line at www.ridgidparts.com.

Additionally, when picking up large volume of liquids, the liquid in the drum may reach a predetermined level and the float mechanism will rise automatically to cut off airflow. This occurs to avoid liquids from entering the power head. When this happens, turn off the vac, unplug the power cord, and empty the drum. For this reason, it is important NOT to leave the vac running unattended during operation.

Before storage, the filter must be dried to avoid possible mildew and damage to the filter. We recommend that you clean or wash the filter then let it air dry overnight. Please check the filter for holes or tears after each cleaning. The filter might need to be replaced if it has any damage.

I've been trying to find the proper vacuum bag and how to attach/install it into this vacuum that I've had for years. Anybody have a solution? I'm heading to the HD this afternoon to see what they say.

HD has the generic 9 to 15 gallon vac bags that are a bit too long but work anyway. These are the ones I use.

In the previous question about bags for this model, the answer give was to use the VF3502 filter bags. However, the instructions for installing the bag on the 2 rib inlet tube don't match the anatomy of the WD1270, which has an inlet tube that is molded into the body at the bottom so the cardboard collar cannot be attached.

Answer:
You will need to punch a hole on the cardboard before sliding it over the inlet tube inside the drum.
