Rated 5 out of 5 by Allsource from 18 volt shop vac Finally had a chance to use my new 18 volt Rigid Shop Vac on the job. Used a fully charged 2.0 Amp/Hr. battery and got a running time of about 7 min. Not bad since the vac will be used for quick small cleanups. Very happy with purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TDubs from Why didn't someone think of this sooner The convenience of this vacuum is wonderful! I thought it was great using it at home. Then I took it to the lake. So portable and easy to use to clean the camper & especially the boat when it's tied to the dock. No dragging a cord 100 feet to the boat and worrying about it falling in the water

Rated 4 out of 5 by usatrp97 from 18V Ridgid Cordless Vacuum, 3gal capacity I bought this because the Ridgid.com web site had videos that informed me that the vacuum had a life time warranty and so did the batteries and charger starter kit. I ordered two items. The vacuum and the dual charger/4Ah and 2AH starter kit. When they arrived, I tried to register the batteries and charger on the Ridgid web page and learned that it was only for 3 years. I could not register the vacuum as it was made by Emmerson under the Rigid name. I had to call Emmerson and they didn't want registration as the warranty was the standard "warranty for manufacturing defects only" and is not under the LSA Ridgid Powertool agreement as advertised. I attempted to do light vacumming in one car using the 2Ah battery freshly charged. i did not finish the 4 floorboards before I had to switch to the 4Ah battery. I like the vacuum because it is so portable and NO CORDS!!! Very very nice. It has strong suction and did a very good job cleaning. It just very hard on battery life as it sucks them down fast. The dual charger is not a dual charger. It only charges one battery at a time and not both at the same time. My original dual charger will charge two batteries at the same time and has a fan cooling/blower for the batteries. This "new dual charger" not only will not charge two at the same time, but there is also NO FAN so batteries come off the vacuum hot and stay hot during charging. I like the vacuum, but I don't like the misleading video promise and I don't like the warranty as it is lame and not the Rigid LSA powertool warranty that I thought I was getting. I don't like the dual chager as it is not a dual charger. When one battery is chagred the it will automatically switch to the other and begin charging it. So when you open your combo kit, put the 4Ah battery on first as it takes much longer to charge than the 2AH battery. I would recommend this as it is portable, and cordless and for what it was made for, it works as described. It will never replace the power of a floor model but it is more conveinent for a quick clean up in a small area. 99.00 dollars and very portable for small jobs. It won't clean your entire shop so keep your floor model handy! Good luck Ridgid faithful, as Ridgid is no longer faithful to us consumers.

Low battery ?
I just purchased this vacum . I own 4 Ridgid 18volt Lithium batteries. 3, 2.0 AmH and one 4.0 AmH . I tried the 4.0 one first and after exactly 5 minutes ( not complaining at all about run time ) it started to go on and off . I figured if it was dying it would get weak then just shut off. I then tried a 2.0 AmH battery and after a while ( I didn't time this one) it gradually got weaker lower and gradually shut off. So is this normal for the vacum ? I called Ridgid they said they didn't know if the batteries could do that and recommended I return. Thank you for any help .
Sounds like the vac has a problem. Maybe the battery was loose or pop loose. Because I can run mine on a 2.0 fully charged battery for over 10 mins easy. Yes as the battery gets close to running out of power it doses slow down just a bit and then it just shuts off completely. But it doesn't turn off then back on again that sounds like a connections issue to me. Maybe a wire is loose on the inside some ware from the factory. I would just go with what Ridgid Customer Service said and return for a new one.

Is the 18v cordless vac eligible for the Lifetime Service Agreement?
I recently purchased the cordless vac, and it very clearly states LSA eligible on the box. I am familiar with registering products for the LSA, and all of my other tools, once registered, show the warranty status. However once I registered the vac, (which incidentally required a separate login), there was no mention of the LSA. Please clarify.
No. This vacuum is registered thru RIGID.com not RIGID Power Tools which has the LSA. However, RIGID.com warrants the vac for lifetime. I assume it is the same warranty that covers their other shop vacs. Hope this helps.
