Rated 4 out of 5 Great Suction My main issue with this is only the installation of the dust bag. Not very easy, in my opinion. Bag is kinda big. I did get the system from a local Home Depot and got the bags recommended. Not sure if it is a Home Depot thing or just the bags for this vac are not on their shelves. July 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by OUTSTANDING SMALL VACUUM I ended up with this vacuum. Due to a Home Depot mess up on my order. And I tell you I love it I actually purchase the 3 gallon vacuum. But ended up with this 4 gal unit. And I am so glad they did mess up my order. This is a extra strong vacuum great intake. You wont be sorry with this vacuum. I use it in my work area for my to keep my sawdust cleaned up. I admit the price is a little high but watch for the sales ou wont be sorry. July 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Product is better than I expected. It's size is ideal for me ... very compact. The suction is great due to the 5.0 hp motor. Most of the other similar size shop vacs had 3.5 hp motors. Due to its size it is easy to get into hard to reach spots. Very satisfied with this product. July 21, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good power in a compact, portable footprint. A lot of thought went into the design of this portable unit for ease of use, storage and transportability without compromising performance. July 16, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fantastic small wet/dry vac, except... I am very satisfied with my w/d vac with one exception...I believe it should include a reducer coupling from 1 7/8" to 1 1/4". There are some great attachments available for the 1 7/8" hose except for the carpet attachment. Over all I am extremely satisfied with this small unit with a large motor July 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by cant comment on durability as I have only used the unit a few times so far overall please with the product so far. what else can I say after having the product for a short period of time and little usage July 12, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by good vacuum I have used this portable for water and drywall clean up. Only issue i have id carrying the pole extension. They have to be handled separately. July 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wow! I've always wondered if someone would build a unit like this one!!! Wow! i have waited a long time, hoping someone would put a big motor in a small vac..... You did it !!!! Awesome! July 7, 2015

Answer:
Absolutely! There must be a foam filter on the unit when vacuuming up liquids to prevent debris from getting in to the impeller.

Answer:
Here are some notes from the manual:
Vacuuming Liquids:
1. When picking up small amounts of liquid the filter may be left in place,
2. When picking up large amounts of liquid we recommend that the filter be removed. If the filter is not removed it will become saturated and misting may appear in the exhaust.
Warning: do not remove the filter cage and float. The float prevents liquid from entering the impeller and damaging the motor. The cage prevents fingers from touching the impeller.
3. When the liquid in the drum reaches a predetermined level, the float mechanism will rise automatically to cut off airflow. You will know that the float has risen because vac airflow ceases and the motor noise will become higher in pitch, due to increased motor speed. When this happens, turn off the vac unplug the power cord, and empty the drum.
4. After using the vac to pick up liquids, the filter must be dried to avoid possible mildew and damage to the filter.

Thank you

and after removing the filler I noticed that a good amount of dust collects around the filler . I believe this happens when a bag is not used. In which I plan to do. I'm new to the product this will be my first time using it, being so Ied like to clean it thoroughly, for I'll be using inside my house.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!

It is encourage using a wet rug and wiping the dust accumulated on the vacuum’s power head rather than washing it directly with water as the water might enter to the motor which will be a safety issue.

Answer:
Unless you are using it as a wet vac make sure to use a clean filter that is properly installed, (it's simple), and if need be wipe down the motor housing with a damp, not wet, cloth with the unit unplugged.
