Rated 3 out of 5 by FTimeRigidUser from Performance ok Surprised at the loose fit of the motor unit to the dust drum. My shop vac and craftsman products fit tightly against the drum. Product picks up light debris ok. Blower performance is ok. Unit rated at 4.5 hp. One concern I have is use of wet pickup. One of the reviews indicates that wet pickup without filter in place allows water to exhaust from the blower port. Perhaps a foam sleeve.over the filter cage, with filter removed, may solve the problem. Owners manual suggests removal of filter with heavy wet pickup. I have not tried to use the vac in wet pickup yet so unable to verify if this issue is at all true. Would like to hear from other owners on their use on wet pickup. Lifetime warranty is a real plus. For the price point this is a good buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by rayrayct from Just what I needed I purchased the rigid wet/ dry vac a few weeks ago. I was building a table and need something to clean the mess and attach to my sliding mittens saw and sander. Which happen to be rigid, with the sander it works great no dust no mess. Now the saw it gets most of the saw dust. But over all I am pleased with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Shopboy from As Expected Had a RIDGID Wet Vac in the past and loved it. It finally needed replacing so I didn't hesitate to buy another on. Great suction, nice roller wheels, made well for durability. A long lasting vac for the price. I use it in the garage for woodwork clean up and car cleaning and what ever else comes up. If you are looking, make sure this is one you check out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by duanejr from I have 12 gallon 5 horsepower vacum. This was purchased for my 81 year old Mother. I used it at her house the day of purchsed This is a very good brand. I actually wanted the 4 gallon with 5 horsepower motor since it was to be used by my 81 year old Mother, but low and behold I find out that NO Home Depot stocks the wet filter for that model and that it would take up to 1 week for it to be delivered to home or store. So, she purchased the 9 gallon with less horsepower because the wet filter was and I guess in stock. My wife stated that had she went to purchase a wet/dry vac she would have ASSUMED all the parts needed would have been enclosed in the same packaging as the vac itself. We do not understand WHY as store would not have the filters for both dry and wet needs. It is not common that someone would come to buy a wet vac if it was not needed then.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ILikeToBuildStuff from Dissapointment... I am an avid Ridgid tool user. I love the durability and the fact they offer a lifetime guarantee, plus they look cool too! My "Shop Vac" went kaput after many years of sucking up stuff it was never intended to. It was very reliable. A lot in such a small package, I think it was a 6 gallon. After all the great tools I've been buying from Ridgid (Home Depot), I figured, why would their wet/dry vac be any different. I got it back to the shop eagerly awaiting the gleam and smell of a new product and opening the package of a new tool, it's like Xmas all over again! Got it assembled (easy), casters were a little small and cheap looking... eh, we'll give em a try. Plugged it in and went straight to work. I had a lot of dust and chips and particles of all shapes and sizes to clean up since the old vac died the day before. Well... the hose is WAY too stiff and doesn't spin very free at the connections toward either end, keeps getting locked up in a big bow that won't untie, frustrating. Oh and then there's the fact that it won't suck anything up. I literally laid the hose end on my table saw and slowly crept up to a thin pile of sawdust and the dust won't budge until the nozzle is 1'' away!!!! I literally have to waive the wand over every square inch of my shop in order to pick up the debris! Unfortunately I already used it and felt bad returning it... I spoke to a guy at Home Depot and he told me an exchange might be possible but was really weary about me bringing it back. So in conclusion, they got me on this one, 1 for Home Depot/Ridgid and 0 for me. I will continue to buy Ridgid products but when I buy another Vac to replace this one it will NOT be a Ridgid.

how loud is this vacume
It's pretty quiet compared to the suction power it has. I've used it mainly inside my garage and am satisfied with the noise level.

Where can I get an adapter that fits the 1 7/8" hose? I want to attach the unit to an outlet port from a tool.
Ridgid does not sell an adapter for 1 7/8" hose. Their alternative is to buy another hose that is 2".
