Rated 5 out of 5 by DANNO great suction power for the price
We purchased this item after using one from out in the shop. It has great suction power. The accessory tools allows to clean in those hard to get to places.

During our last renovation, our contractor was using this Vac and I've been looking at it. Loved this item and I went to HD to purchase when item was on sale. Anyway, love this Vac so far.

vac looks just fine . I do not know why the lid is not a tight fit somewhat loose when connected to the drum of the vbac . Did not get to use it yet hope all is ok.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bill211 Ridgid 9 gal wet-dry vac
Have had this unit less than a week. The unit has 4 hp. Would like to see at least 5 hp. The floor attachment holds the suction up off the floor by about 2 inches, and this prevents picking up many items. More hp would probably fix that, or maybe a different floor tool design. The utility tool that comes with the vac is useless to me. Also, the cord is way too short. There's a 20 ft "accessory" cord available, which I'm sure Ridgid wants to sell. And there's no place to store the tiny cord on the vac, like maybe a couple of protrusions to wrap it around. The hoses are very stiff, and somewhat hard to use and to attach together. Maybe with time, things will loosen up. Need an adapter that converts 1 7/8 to 1 1/2. I want to attach this vac to my table saw, but I'm not able to find an adapter I can use, yet.
I'm using the unit sans bag, with just the filter it comes with. It seems to work pretty well, but I don't know how long until I have to clean or replace the filter. I'm currently scraping paint and caulk off an external door to the garage, and the vac picks up the residue no problem, including a few pieces of gravel. Had to order a couple of common attachments, so I'm just using the hose without any. The unit came with a wet floor attachment, which may prove useful in the future. Otherwise, there are no useful tools to go with the hose. I see the Ridgid marketing strategy, but don't much like it. This should come with at least a crevice tool and/or a brush tool. It would be worth a few extra bucks to me to have an immediately useful tool come with the unit. I like the design. It rolls around well, and is easy to lift and carry around. It's a bit loud, but it looks there is a "muffler" you can buy to fix on the exhaust if that bothers you. The exhaust is fairly robust, and you can hook up the host to it to use as a blower.
I bought this unit because as I was looking at it in the store, two separate people stopped and told me how much they liked their Ridgid vacs, and that the motors in the Ridgid were rugged. I'll see how that works out. So far, I'm good with the performance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by StretchCK62 Overall a pretty good value for the money
The shop vac itself works great and I would have given it a higher score, but the quality of the hose is terrible. That hard plastic that it's made out of seems just like all the rest of the shop vacs out there. Cheap.
I expect more from Ridgid from a quality standpoint. And really, how much extra would it cost for a better quality hose? I know you'll sell me a higher quality hose for $37, but I don't think it would cost you that much to include it.
Also if you're the only brand that would have a nice quality hose included, I think you'd sell more of these. My opinion only.

The worst thing is that the lid doesn't fit tight. Every time you pick up the vac to move it, dust flies out. We returned it and got a smaller model with a lid that clips on.
