Rated 4 out of 5 by usatrp97 from 18V Ridgid Cordless Vacuum, 3gal capacity I bought this because the Ridgid.com web site had videos that informed me that the vacuum had a life time warranty and so did the batteries and charger starter kit. I ordered two items. The vacuum and the dual charger/4Ah and 2AH starter kit. When they arrived, I tried to register the batteries and charger on the Ridgid web page and learned that it was only for 3 years. I could not register the vacuum as it was made by Emmerson under the Rigid name. I had to call Emmerson and they didn't want registration as the warranty was the standard "warranty for manufacturing defects only" and is not under the LSA Ridgid Powertool agreement as advertised. I attempted to do light vacumming in one car using the 2Ah battery freshly charged. i did not finish the 4 floorboards before I had to switch to the 4Ah battery. I like the vacuum because it is so portable and NO CORDS!!! Very very nice. It has strong suction and did a very good job cleaning. It just very hard on battery life as it sucks them down fast. The dual charger is not a dual charger. It only charges one battery at a time and not both at the same time. My original dual charger will charge two batteries at the same time and has a fan cooling/blower for the batteries. This "new dual charger" not only will not charge two at the same time, but there is also NO FAN so batteries come off the vacuum hot and stay hot during charging. I like the vacuum, but I don't like the misleading video promise and I don't like the warranty as it is lame and not the Rigid LSA powertool warranty that I thought I was getting. I don't like the dual chager as it is not a dual charger. When one battery is chagred the it will automatically switch to the other and begin charging it. So when you open your combo kit, put the 4Ah battery on first as it takes much longer to charge than the 2AH battery. I would recommend this as it is portable, and cordless and for what it was made for, it works as described. It will never replace the power of a floor model but it is more conveinent for a quick clean up in a small area. 99.00 dollars and very portable for small jobs. It won't clean your entire shop so keep your floor model handy! Good luck Ridgid faithful, as Ridgid is no longer faithful to us consumers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by krkhrrs from Great portable size and power! This vac is the perfect size and power to do minor to medium clean up, without the need to break out a big shop vac. My recent job was an 11 x 6 bathroom and a big vac would have taken up way too much room. 4.0 battery gives plenty of cleaning time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by okj2 from i like it i was looking for a cordless vacuum so I could move around the house and pick up small things and bugs around the floor easily and this was the way to go. I tried a small corded vac and it was very inconvenient, it just wasn't going to get done, but this vac does the trick. no cord, strong suction and totally mobile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RTC4reno from convenient When I first bought this I didn't have high hopes for a discontinued cordless shop vac. However it's quite convenient with a pretty good suction. At the end of a job when I need to just grab something quick it's perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bikes4d from Awesome Love this particular model. Did try the smaller model but lack suction but this one is great. Don't expect much run time with one battery: a 56Wh battery is enough for one vehicle. Totally recommend this one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by strs from Needs a place to store the hose. I decided to return this product after I opened the box so I can't speak to it's performance. I needed a small vac where all the attachments could fit inside the case. The hose does not stow so I returned it.

Will the hose fit into the exhaust side to use as a blower as well?

Is the 18v cordless vac eligible for the Lifetime Service Agreement?
I recently purchased the cordless vac, and it very clearly states LSA eligible on the box. I am familiar with registering products for the LSA, and all of my other tools, once registered, show the warranty status. However once I registered the vac, (which incidentally required a separate login), there was no mention of the LSA. Please clarify.
I spoke with a Ridgid representative, and I was told that certain tools have different warranty registration, the cordless vac comes with life time warranty , no LSA needed.

Low battery ?
I just purchased this vacum . I own 4 Ridgid 18volt Lithium batteries. 3, 2.0 AmH and one 4.0 AmH . I tried the 4.0 one first and after exactly 5 minutes ( not complaining at all about run time ) it started to go on and off . I figured if it was dying it would get weak then just shut off. I then tried a 2.0 AmH battery and after a while ( I didn't time this one) it gradually got weaker lower and gradually shut off. So is this normal for the vacum ? I called Ridgid they said they didn't know if the batteries could do that and recommended I return. Thank you for any help .
