Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compact and easy to use Only had this vacuum for a week but it seems to do a good job, even with dog hair in my van. Hose could be a bit more flexible. The hose also doesn't pack away great. Small niggles really. Quite happy overall

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very light to wheel and carry Love it. Sold my 12 gallon for this one. Ease of use is the best. Has great sucking power. Better than the larger models.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A small vaum that works like the larger ones but takes less room I bought this vacum for the home use since I have a large one for work. Good for cleaning up spills in carpet and small job clean up. To sum up this vacum has one need to stay efficent for use in the home or on the job. The cannister is small there by the filter is in the dust from the first use. The best way is to call this a bag vacum since that is the only way to keep it working efficienly for the long haul. Ridgid should include a min. of one bag to help make the client aware they need to use it with that to maintain good function.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This replaced a 26 year old Sears unit, needless to say has a lot more suction, easy to use and the hose does not pull out of the tank. Appears to be a great item (wet/dry vac.) will be using in my home workshop, car & truck. Will have to get the floor attachment and then the shop and this old man will be happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of suction. Very powerful My 17 year old Craftsman shop vac bit the dust while I was cleaning up my garage wood shop. I'd been looking at Ridgid vacs from time-to-time and decided to go with the WD 4070 model. The small size, 4 gallons, is not an issue for me as I have a Dust Right dust separator in front of the vac. At 5hp this little thing cleans up big messes quickly. If you need a strong shop vac, in a small package, this one might be just the ticket for you.

Seeing as there is no foam filter with this unit, will it damage the vacuum to remove the filter for vacuuming up liquid?

Asked by: Timj
Absolutely! There must be a foam filter on the unit when vacuuming up liquids to prevent debris from getting in to the impeller.

replacement / different filters

it seems like all the filters you sell are for the larger vacs, are there any filters available to purchase for this vacuum if we need to replace the stock one or want a different filter? thanks

Did I get a dud?

I have had this unit for a very short time with light use......partly because I cant get to suck anything. I purchased to suck up water from when my washer leaked and it picked up nothing.....also when trying to suck up dry materials. it wouldn't even pick up a penny off the floor...Am I doing something wrong? When I remove the hose the suction is very strong...but when the hose is attached the suction is very poor...

Have you checked the hose for obstructions something may have it clogged

How often do I need to change the filter?

I have been cleaning out the ducs in my house and the one I got with the machine today already looks very dirty.
Asked by: bama97202
not sure, I use the bags for dry pick up only and the filter stays clean. You can feel the bag to see if getting full. For filter, suggest once a year if you use it to clean air ducts only...doesn't sound like you use it a lot. filters can last a long time and look like they are very dirty. You can take the filter off and tap it inside a garbage bag and run fingers over the filter to get some dirt, dust cobwebs off.

How do you clean the power head

and after removing the filler I noticed that a good amount of dust collects around the filler . I believe this happens when a bag is not used. In which I plan to do. I'm new to the product this will be my first time using it, being so Ied like to clean it thoroughly, for I'll be using inside my house.
Asked by: Donarp
Unless you are using it as a wet vac make sure to use a clean filter that is properly installed, (it's simple), and if need be wipe down the motor housing with a damp, not wet, cloth with the unit unplugged.
